July 24, 201114 yr Once we start flying it, we won't even care how dirty the DU's are.If you do then you're a nitpicker. AJ Pongress
July 24, 201114 yr Personally i dont want a clinical looking cockpit, they just dont look right! Simon Roberts
July 24, 201114 yr Well, in real life a new cockpit looks nice! The plane i jumpseated on was the Transavia PH-HSE. When i came in it wasn't even a month old, perhaps i was the first on to jumpseat on that plane. However, in FS i think the PMDG looks just right! Really like the 'dirt' and fingerprints, brings much life in the cockpit.
July 25, 201114 yr The filth factor isn't actually as bad as you might think. To my eyes it simply looks like a moderately well-worn but not abused flight deck. There are no underpants hanging off the yoke or half eaten pie crusts under the seats (that I've noticed!)The fingerprints on the DU's REALLY contribute to the impression that you're looking at actual screens on the flight deck, which in turn is a big part of the immersion factor! Completely right ! I work everyday in a 738 flighdeck, and trust me there's fingerprints everywhere on the screens !
July 25, 201114 yr One thought, and I guess this is to those who actually fly NGs in real life (or any aircraft with the big glass MFDs), why are you touching the screens? Are you trying to clear it of dust? What is the purpose of putting any fingers at all on the screens?
