scientifically speaking .. its a awful axiom. If it were true, airplanes would not be able to fly. A B737 has 400,000 parts .. just think of all the engineering mistakes LOL.gif
Well, it is scientific, it is true, airplanes do fly and the quality control of aircraft design and manufacturing is tremendous. In modern manufacturing quality control is itself a science. See six sigma. Cheers, - jahman.

adjust the math if you like...it still makes a point:)If it were just 400,000 * 1part I think Briggs&Stratton would also make great airliners. As for 2x detail in game content, it doesn't take twice as long to make...it's much more.

No because i'm worrying about us who make videos and just use free repaints just for the video and how we don't want to purchase an aircraft for a specific livery. Sounds like it could turn out to be like the XBOX Live marketplace where nothing is free

A fact of engineering is that errors are proportional to the square of the number of their parts
What's the reasoning behind that fact?

I’ve never heard it before yesterday, but I'll make a guess…Each part is a potential point of failure. But what about the relationships between parts? In a simple diagram that pattern of parts and relationships does go up by a power of 2.A theoretical machine of 4 parts has 16 problems to consider (4prts & 12relationships).I kind of doubt it’s meant to be much more than a warning...back-of-the-envelope style. It is a great illustration of how complexity rises.

NO! Period. Games for Windows Live Marketplace is the worst thing ever! Hate it and will not buy MS Flight if it's integrated with Marketplace whatsoever.

I know you are frightened of change . but how is marketplace the worst thing ever?
I know you are frightened of change .
lol Well said, I think a lot of criticism for changes can be put down to this primal fear.

Fascinating how the human psyche turns "Microsoft: Flight" into "Microsoft: Primal Fear".Great name for a video game, though Big%20Grin.gif Cheers, - jahman.

So you'd rather them use Crapspy again? A multiplayer client is needed in Flight, and Windows Live is a heck of a lot better than Gamespy. If they have an online store, so what? It's just like buying from Simmarket, Flight1, etc, but the name is different. rolleyes.gif

Frankly I wouldn't use FLIGHTS multiplayer. I would rather just wait for VATSIM Compatibility

I just had problems with the Marketplace cause I couldn't find the product key for Age of Empires Online which is free and error with transaction etc. That's why I hate it. lol Ok, I would prefer Microsoft than Crapspy. :D

I am hoping that the Devs will allow for some kind of in game overlay so a program like squawkbox could be run on top of the Flight window while in full screen.
