Please say you understand.Integrated marketplace .. means a integrated marketplace for Flight addons...its that simple.

Yes, especially if it only sells add-ons that pass quality control as to CDTs, memory leakage, un-intrusive install, 100% uninstaller, etc.Cheers,- jahman.

Define "integrated marketplace".
Scroll down to see what you can add to your Dirt 3 game (if you have the game of course), the last add-on is free. Click on one of the add-on (by for PC) and you'll be able to read something like .. Online Interactions.....This add-on works with DiRT 3 .....nothing about previous release like Dirt 2, now apply the same principals to Flight.http://marketplace.x...ddon&noSplash=1Here is an add-on for Dirt 2, it does not work with Dirt 3.http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/DiRT-2-Access-All-Areas-Pack/00000000-0000-400c-80cf-0001434d0819

No, it's not that simple. Especially given the conversations since Flight's announcement. Will this "integrated marketplace" be another option for add-ons for Flight or will it be the only option? If the only option, then I think there will be problems that many do not foresee. And MS checking QC and making sure there are no CTDs and so on? How's that working on the OS side and the drivers made available? Support is just a phone call away when some add on plane conflicts with a super, duper airport, mixed in with Clear Blue Skies weather add on.So given the "it" means "it" definition of "integrated marketplace", I'll stick with my NO!

Is this not working like that for other games already like Dirt 3?Support is just a phone call away when some add on plane conflicts with a super, duper airport, mixed in with Clear Blue Skies weather add on.That's where the approved developers come in to play.

If it limits the ability of developers (like PMDG) to work outside of the confines of the simulator then it will be the worst "feature" ever added to the flight simulator franchise. Ever.

What does this mean?

How will this affect freeware developers. My favorite plane is Calclassics Constellation, freeware yet awesome.

I guarantee freeware will still be available. I just believe it will have to pass some sort of screening by MS, but I'm not too sure on that. rolleyes.gifJamie ♥

*btw, when using the term 'game' it is an umbrella term, it also includes simulation and racing games, and everything in-between. Do not twist my words.

"A video game is an electronic form of play that involves interaction with a user interface to generate visual feedback on a video device" - the definition of the word "videogame", game is the common shorthand for videogame. Just being clear.

I doubt that. Freeware took a pretty big hit with FSX due to the complexity that was added along with the expectations of the masses. We are out there, but not in the number you had with FS9. Without even considering the question of things like backward compatibility (which I doubt) when you start requiring some sort of screening process along with yet again being forced to re-learn the new tools (which won't include Gmax or FSDS) you have pretty much killed any desire to do this for free. Too bad considering the fact that the freeware guys had a big hand in furthering the sim in the past.

On thing for sure; no freeware then no Microsoft Flight for me! A payware only environment would hold zero interest from my point of view. Regards, Mike Mann
