PMDG 737NGX Livery Availability

Featured Replies

Thank you. I have your original livery in the 600 and think it looks great. Your consideration is all I ask.

Jack,

I'm almost done with the -700 in the 1970 era American Airlines livery. I still have to double check some spec file shadings as there are a few minor quirks I'm not happy with. I might get upload later today. If not, I should have it uploaded Monday evening at the latest.

I've included 2 in-progress shots below. The side that is not in direct sunlight can really start to look like bare metal. It's the sun side that will always not look as good.

Wow! Awesome! Thank you, Steve!

Hmmm... Still no fictional Jet Blue. :(

The 2 previous shots were before I applied the custom spec files i had to make exclusively for this livery. Was piddling with P3D today and hosed up FSX...lol. Got the NGX loaded on P3D so I can finish the small area around the cockpit windows and then it will be basically ready for upload. Still shooting for tomorrow night.

The picture below is with the custom spec files. They make that dark hue on the edges of the fuselage to better simulate the bare metal finish.

Silly Question, but have you looked into the A2a p51 (and possibly other models) for the Bare metal texture?

Would it be worth getting in touch with them for their bare metal secrets?

Steve, that AA retrojet looks great! I love the retro liveries the most...

Jarrad,

Thanks for the suggestion. The only secret is that I firmly believe the "chrome" flag for the fuselage areas of the model file was not turned on. Based on my research, you have 2 choices of shine when modeling in FSX and it appears the non-chrome state was chosen for the main fuselage areas.

I firmly believe the chrome was turned on for the leading edge slats as those do display the chrome "hue" even in low light conditions. I guess we will have to see what the 777 holds when it is released in regards to a chrome finish.

After doing some research, here:

Steve,

For when All Blacks ?

The "All Blacks" is still being worked....slowly, but still it's still on the list. Too many interruptions lately, but I have been working on it.

The American Airlines 1970's era Astrojet in a -700 just finished uploading to the AVSIM library and should be available in a few hours. I installed P3D yesterday and somehow it messed up my FSX install, so I had to do some repair work to finish the livery. The screenshots below are all off the upload. Just realized I forgot to adjust the hazard lines on the engines. They are white because I used one of my BBJ PSD files. Will adjust to red and re-upload.

You have to step back from them and work on other things or they will burn you out to the point where you don't want to paint.

Hello Mr. Stubbs,

First let me thank you for all of the great liveries you have painted for the community! I especially enjoy flying your beautiful BBJ blue livery!

I can see that you are usually very busy with many different projects to work on so I would like to ask you, if you have time and if you would like to paint one or two more great liveries, if you would kindly use your skills and experience to paint one or maybe both of these classic liveries on a 737-600? I have made an attempt of using the paint kit but quickly realized that it is far beyond my capability and patience.

Of course I will understand if you decide not to take on these liveries but I would also greatly appreciate your time and effort if you do decide to paint them.

Thank you in advance for your consideration!

Wondering if we might ever see a US Navy C-40A livery for the 737-700? Been searching around, the closest I've seen is for the old FS2004 models.

James,

That aircraft was already in my "to do" list. I had started on it and might pull it back up and finish it over the next few days. I had planned on making a -700 (no winglets) with the United States Navy wording and national insignia as one version and the -700 with winglets that does not have the wording over the windows and the national insiginia.

Ben,

I'll pass on those for right now. Down the road if another painter does not pick them up, I might entertain doing them. Thanks for asking! :P

Great to hear it, Steve! Just curious, which squadron are you using for the C-40A?
