July 28, 201114 yr Spot on! LOL A thread about signatures, of all places... haha. I think to reduce our carbon footprint, this thread ought to be deleted. July 28, 201114 yr Jeepers crimeny... we shouldn't have specs in signatures because it's a PC flight sim forum... you're going to have to read about people's systems. And banners are typically LINKS to one image, so you don't get to count those over and over again. I suddenly have this urge to update my sig with my system specs... humiliating as they may be. I enjoy looking at the rigs other people have built and hearing the performance they get out of it because in the next year or so I'm likely going to be building one myself. As of right now, all I have is my full name, so that I am in compliance with forum rules. +1 I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
July 28, 201114 yr Perhaps when you have more then 2 topics, and 9 posts you might have more throw around here....For starters, PLEASE SIGN YOUR FULL NAME AS PER FORUM RULES.Glad you decided to join right on the cusp of the NGX launch, Mean while the people with the signatures that seem to bug you so much, actually have something to contribute here and have done so for years. Dont feed the troll, this thread needs a delete right quick. Hows that for wasting server space, or better yet, electricity lol (that one made me laugh) Another 20 seconds of my life I'll never get back, thanks for that. Are you a moderator? If not shouting for someone to comply with a forum rule is just as rude as them not following it. Better to leave policing the rule to PMDG.As for not having enough posts to comment, since when has post count equated to post quality? Asking for a thread to be deleted because you don't like the subject is ridiculous.Kevin Hall

Hi, No there's nothing rude in it. Robert Randazzo encourages users to politely "help" others in complying with forum rules, he have stated it many times already, so it's time for all to deal with it. PMDG staff is focused on developing software not moderating forum, and it's better for us to keep it that way ;) Regards,
July 28, 201114 yr Are you a moderator? If not shouting for someone to comply with a forum rule is just as rude as them not following it. Better to leave policing the rule to PMDG. What's rude is coming into a forum and ignoring the clearly posted rules. You don't even have to open the thread pinned on the front page to see in caps that you're supposed to sign your posts with your full name. There's nothing rude about reminding people to respect the rules. I'd nip it in the bud and make sure people know and follow the rules rather than NOT do that and let it get out of control to the point that the moderators (like there's thirty of them working in shifts?) have to run through two dozen active threads and delete posts left and right. Okay, so it's not the end of civilization if somebody new doesn't notice the rule, or just forgets... but, while I'm relatively new to posting here, I'm not new to posting in general... forums can and do blow up. It's free to post here... as much as anything else that's why there's rules. It's just best for everybody who enjoys posting here to stay on top of that stuff. If it's rude to remind people of the rules, I'm rude. I can live with that. July 28, 201114 yr Why can't I add three images to my signature? I want to place 747, MD-11 and JS41 images provided by PMDG Team but this is now impossible.

I believe the AVSIM rules limit you to one banner... but you can add one by linking to it using the "Image" button, right under the font size dropdown. July 29, 201114 yr Many people here may perceive this post as bashing or pointing fingers, but it's really not one. This has just makes me an increasing impression lately in the forum. Maybe I am spending too much time here waiting for the release. Guys, please have mercy on us with all these signatures. Without spelling names - why do we care how big is your hard drive and how much free space you have on it? I mean come on. The impression is that this is not aviation forum but one for maniac hardware-overclocking teens. If you gonna have a signature, why not put your hours and type ratings in it, or at least something relevant in the most concise representation possible? No one cares what your rig is, no matter how proud of it you are. Another thing is that when we read a topic, maybe half of the space is taken by the same signatures. We all do not post just once in a thread that is interesting to us, so you get the picture. It is really irritating (at least to me) to dodge all this spam in every thread just to navigate to the actual posts text. I even took the time to calculate the signature size of a fellow forumer here. It is 11304 bytes. He has one of those "future owner of the NGX" pictures and his PC rig in absurd detail. That's about 10 posts of pure text to say at least. Bear in mind that the full text of Romeo and Juliet is around 100k. Tom and AVSIM staff are kindly providing the servers and the bandwidth for free to us, so please be reasonable. More signatures = more strain on the database, http server, all internet infrastructure on the way, more RAM needed in your PCs, which is way equals more electricity, etc. And most importantly, more difficult to read the forums. You decide which is better.cheersIgnat See how many times you've been reminded to sign your full name, and how difficult it is for you to do so. You'd rather waste so much bandwidth criticizing sigs with specs - and by the way, that is by no means contrary to the rules,as they are actually encouraged in this forum - than comply with a simple rule. Your posts don't even deserve to be seen because if I remember correctly, every post without full names on it is supposed to be deleted right away. If I had to choose again, I'd rather be a maniac overclocking ADULT, as long as I'm operating within allowed procedures, than an insubordinate one, who points fingers while deliberately disobeying the rule. I'm proud of my signature, and I update it whenever I change anything. The presence of my sig on the forum has saved me so much heartache whenever I have needed help in here. Chidiebere Anyahara
July 29, 201114 yr Asking for a thread to be deleted because you don't like the subject is ridiculous. I agree mate, but usually those kids do even worst, when a thread's subject or sub-posts are not equal to their opinion they start to light a fire up within the thread ( appointing the one with a different opinion as troll ) hoping the moderators will close and delete it soon due to the chaos raised by themselves.Usually moderators eventually do that of course and the opinions that are different from the mass get deleted or censured this way and those kids reach the will to delete others opinions. ( My opinion on Ms Flight and the relative thread is a clear example of such technique used by kids or seniors who wanna censure or delete the other's opinion ) A trap that moderators should avoid to fall in, I suggest
July 29, 201114 yr One could argue that this topic is a waste of bandwidth to read and this space could be used to discuss interesting quirks of the NG that we hope to find in a certain highly anticipated release rather than bickering about trivial matters. I'm not trying to rub anyone the wrong way I'm just offering a lurkers rational 3rd person perspective.Regards, Luke Stevens
