July 28, 201114 yr Hi PMDG, FPS performance is going to be the crucial factor for me in deciding whether to purchase the NGX. As you are wrapping up the release build, I was wondering whether you can report yet on FPS performance of the product with the debugging code removed. In particular, can you give us some numbers and an assessment of performance relative to the MD11 and JS41? If you can't give us that sort of report yet, will you be able to do so before release. I guess that sooner or later after release the truth about performance will be known, but I'd like to buy this day 1 if I am confident that performance will not be an issue. I own the other recently released 737NG and, to put it bluntly, I'll be buying the PMDG NGX if the FPS are better than those that I experience with the other NG (I'm one of those whose FPS are decimated when the mouse pointer appears). Anyway, best of luck with the release. Regards,Justin
July 28, 201114 yr Commercial Member What are your system specs? BTW - the NG was for FS9, this is for FSX. Does the mouse problem plague BOTH sims? Best regards,Robin.

July 28, 201114 yr Commercial Member This won't happen until we're at release candidate stage - we're not there yet. We do believe we've done a good job of mitigating the mouse issues though - none of our testers are complaining about framerates. July 28, 201114 yr Author Okay, thanks Ryan. I think I incorrectly assumed you already had a release candidate.I look forward to hearing the official word on performance when you're at that stage. Regards,Justin
July 28, 201114 yr Correct if I'm wrong, but I recall a post saying the NGX runs simimarly to the PMDG MD-11, or maybe even slightly better? Not completely sure about this though.
July 28, 201114 yr I am looking very carefully at this bird. I will not be jumping the gun though. After buying the 'other' aircraft, I will be waiting for the euphoria to die down and listening to what others have to say. The framerate is a big, big issue for me with my current bird, and although I am more than happy with it in every other aspect I will nevertheless be waiting to see if the PMDG can offer better performance, if so, then the deal is in the bag! Yes, that was said multiple time in this forum. But of cause thigns can change during the development, but i wouldn't expect a big change. Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!
July 28, 201114 yr FPS performance is going to be the crucial factor for me in deciding whether to purchase the NGX. FPS is the key, you are right. Without good FPS the game is over. It seems that developers says that it would be quite similar to MD9, I do not own it so am eagerly waiting for first tests by customers after the release.
July 28, 201114 yr I am going to correct myself. I said the framerate is a big issue for me, and yes to a point, but as I'm sure most of you will agree it's smoothness that is paramount. With the 'other' bird it is very smooth, but unfortunatley when you get really low framerates it doesn't matter how smooth it is you can still be presented with a slideshow. I am thinking particualrly about some of the Mega Australian airports produced by our friends at Orbx. July 28, 201114 yr It will be interesting to see what FPS are like and I wonder just how much the de-bugging code effects FPS.All the talk has been positive and thats great to hear, so just how much more FPS with the NGX have with no other code running? It's a big one for all of us. David Murden. July 28, 201114 yr Nevermind. I'd probably get in small kine trouble for what I originally put here. Just trust me when I say it already runs very very well and my system is far from top of the line. BTW, what happened to the delete button in the new forum? Edited July 28, 201114 yr by rgamurot Ryan Gamurot
July 29, 201114 yr Author What exactly is your system Ryan? (And what did you originally say... I missed it ?) Rgds,Justin
