Steep Learning Curve

Featured Replies

All PMDG Guys Hats off to you all.. Applause.gif What a steep learning curve I am on...LOL I can say the first aircraft I have flown that feels and behaves (to the best of my knowledge) like a 737.... since the Sublogic days! Sorry if I have been a pain over the last few months.. Simply Stunning Hug.gif I hope that you guys get some rest next week..LOL.gif Cheers and Thankyou Joe PS Frame rates great Mid 20's for me and smooth i7 o'c 3.8 470 GTX

heh... typically after a release (especially this big) is when developers are the most swamped and busy.

No rest for the wicked. They will be up to their eyeballs with support queries and keeping the forum under control for the weeks ahead, but I'm sure they are relieved to finally release it, and to get the DDOS issue behind them!

Well... what did you expect? This is an airliner for which crews spend an incredible amount to train in order to get certified. And even after that, they spend years as FO until they are given full control of the thing. And you are supposed to fly this thing on your own. If the learning curve wouldn't be steep, it wouldn't be a very good simulation, wouldn't it?

Its a pretty simple plane tho. It has been designed to make it as easy as possible for the pilot, within the design specs of course. You'll get the hang of it quicker than you'll think. Just do the tutorial a couple of times and you should be good to go :)

CristiI have a PPL with a IMC and night rating not a novice..lol , I was just saying the steep learning curve with all systems simulated trying to get ahead of it... A great joy

- i havent even started her up yet. I spent most of the day staring doing a thourgh walk around, follwed by system theory and initialization. The quality here is remarkable to say the least..

I've goofed around with the lesser simulated 737s so much that I haven't had any problem flying this one. Since I also have been reading the FCOM a lot the last few weeks, I am very comfortable with this NGX. Not that I know so much, just that I have enough understanding to fly the city pair. This NGX is amazing. What a big step up from anything that I have ever had in FSX. PMDG sure did it right in every aspect with this simulation. It sure is a fun aircraft to learn, when you have all of the systems working. This is what "simulation" is all about !Love.gif Bob

thought I wouldn't be able to get this bird from a to b for a few weeks, but actually it was pretty easyafter my first flight I did the tutorial and it was great, a few mistakes in the tutorial but none which affected the plane, just left/right mistake and so ;)learned alot from the tutorial, but even without it an maybe 1-2hours of ifly on my friends pc was enough to get this bird started from cold&dark and then autoland from KSEA to KSFOI think the 747 and MD-11 are much harder to get from a to b. But still have much to learn but its fun :)

I personally love the fact that this plane DOES require a lot of studying and time to learn. It's going to take months, if not years to fully grasp everything this plane has to offer.

RPRIEVER just so that you can have a idea of how much there is to lern , the part time charter company i work for oparates 2 800s and even till this day i keep seen menus on the CDU that i know they are there and till this day i had not touch it at all . If anyone here ask me something related to the cdu that may be complex i may have to look at mine (the ngx) or wait till my next flight to see what it is if is not simulated ...

Went through the FCOM normal procedure twice. The first time was rough and the second time was exact. I think I know most of it by heart. Fantastic plane. Very happy with it.
