PFC Throttle quadrants

Featured Replies

For those who may not be familiar with the PFC NG quadrant I have attached a photo. I have it installed in the Jet Console. I am having the same problems as Joe has however I have managed to get the flap switch on the console to work. It is immediately ahead of the Flap lever on the Quadrant. This may take a PFC.dll update from Peter Dowson. He is on vacation until Aug 8 so might try contacting him tomorrow. Tom
Where did you get that console (the one the throttle quadrant is mounted in) from? I can't find it on PFC's site. Hope someone finds a fix-I was (possibly still am) planning to get that throttle quadrant!

Hi: Yes - I am having the same issues too - I use the PFC Throttle Console and have selected the 737 NG setup and I have no working gear and flap lever. Any solution would be so helpful! BTW - does anyone know - is this the reason why we are getting the gear warning horn? Thanks. Chris Catalano

Hi Will, I got it from PFC many years ago. I don't know if they are still making it or not. I didn't show the whole console in the picture but it also has all of the radios also. You might call PFC and see if they have any but are not advertising. Tom Hibben

Use the 2 engine jet from the pull down menu, not the 737 one. That should give you flaps. Gear and spoilers are a no go. Hopefully one of you guys get a hold of Pete Dowson and let him know and hopefully he can do something with the pfc.dll. I have to work next few days our else I would. As an aside, can one of you try putting the pfc.dll infront of the pmdg one in the xml file and see if having it att a higher priority might help? Shot in the dark but you never know. FSINN's stuff needs a certain order in the xml file to work properly so maybe this does to.

I'll watch this thread with a lot of interest before I buy the NGX then...

I use a CH Throttle Quadrant and I too have the problem where the gear and spoilers don't work. The flaps work fine. So I guess it's not just a PFC problem. Jim

Jim, thanks for the info. This plane does not seem to like hardware such as throttle consoles. I have a feeling this ngx does not get along well with fsuipc. They coded the gear and spoilers in some way were it now does not work with PFC or CH hardware. Hope something can be done.

Hello, I had a similar problem using Go-Flight's TQ6. Neither the spoiler or the flap lever would work. Both levers were mapped using the GoFlight Sofware to to applicable spoiler and flap lever. GoFlight's software was ver 2.0.1. The levers worked correctly in the FSX B737-800 and in other add-ons. Yesterday, I discovered a solution for the Go Flight issue, one that you might try for the PFC. In addition to mapping these axis using the Go Flight software, it was also necessary to assign these axis to spoilers and flaps using FSX Control/Axis assignment feature. On the Axis Assignment menu, select the control device, in my case it's the Go Flight TQ6 and your case it will be the PFC throttle, and then assign the spoiler axis to the desired lever (you may have to check the "Reverse" box to obtain correct spoiler action, i.e. pull the lever back to deploy the spoilers. Use the same technique to assign the Flaps to the desired lever, which may also need to have the "Rerverse" option checked. All this is accomplished using the FSX Controls\Axis Assignment menu. Once I took these steps, the spoilers and flaps functioned normally. See if this solves this issue. Hope this helps, Rich BollWichita, KS

FSX does not see PFC inputs, you have to go thru FSUIPCThis could be a show stopper for my home cockpit build using this airplane.

Hi, I have the VRAC Throttle Quad with a PFC yoke. After a heck of a time, I was able to get everything sorted out except pitch trim. Still having a problem getting that to work correctly. All input is via FSUIPC.

Mike, please please for the sake of my sanity can you tell us how to do it? As well would you be so very gracious in emailing me your fsuipc file that has your settings in it (think it is the ini file?). I need to get the gear and spoliers working and find out how too fix my throttles not going below 42%. Email is blauelini (@) gmail.com. Much thanks in advance Mike.

Hi, No problem on the instructions, I setup a document in case of a system crash and/or FSX reinstall and have everything written out. Keep in mind this is for the VRAC Throttle Quad and PFC Yoke. I do not have the PFC console, although it may work for that as well. Let me find it and get it uploaded. I'll also send you my FSUIPC.INI file.

Hi, I originally worked out these instructions to bypass VRAC's software and use the throttle quad with FSUIPC. Although I had to fuss getting it to work with the PMDG 737NGX. Here are the key commands and instruction booklet I created. I setup the PMDG Key Commands as follows:==============PFC Column Yoke==============Buttons & SwitchesLeft Front Button (Brakes): .>Left Rear Button (Landing Gear): GRight Front Button (Arm Speed Brake): Shift + /Right Rear Button (Autopilot): ZLeft Rocker Switch #1 (Aft Overhead): Shift + 7Left Rocker Switch #2 (Fwd Overhead): Shift + 6Left Rocker Switch #3 (FMC): Shift + 3Left Rocker Switch #4 (Radio): Shift + 4Right Rocker Switch #1 (Move Back): Ctrl + EnterRight Rocker Switch #2 (Move Forward): Ctrl + BackRight Rocker Switch #3 (Move Up): Shift + EnterRight Rocker Switch #4 (Move Down): Shift + Back ================VRAC Throttle Quad================Buttons & SwitchesParking Brake: Ctrl + .>Left Stab Trim Cutout: Still Trying To Find The Key CommandRight Stab Trim Cutout: Still Trying To Find The Key CommandLeft Stab Trim Norm: Still Trying To Find The Key CommandRight Stab Trim Norm: Still Trying To Find The Key CommandLeft Fuel Cutoff: Ctrl + Shift + F11Right Fuel Cutoff: Ctrl + Shift + F12Left Fuel Run: Ctrl + Shift + F2Right Fuel Run: Ctrl + Shift + F4TO/GA: Ctrl + Shift + GAuto Throttle Disengage: Shift + REngine Reverser: F2 VRAC Throttle Axis AssignmentsPitch Trim: Elevator TrimSpeed Brake: SpoilersLeft Engine Throttle: Throttle 1Right Engine Throttle: Throttle 2Flaps Selector: Flaps PFC Yoke Axis AssignmentsYoke Forward/Rear: ElevatorYoke Left/Right: Aileron My Setup Instructions: Although some of these have changed while using it with the PMDG 737NGX, it should give you an idea on the setup procedure I used. For instance, you'll notice the PMDG fuel Control Levers use F2/F11 and F4/F12. The manual has just one key command for each.http://www.rmfc.us/p...AC_Throttle.pdf I use the yoke's right rocker switches to move the eye view and the left to bring up 2D panels, but you could use them for anything you want. I'll send you the FSUIPC.INI file via PM. Hope this helps

Hi, The only problems I have are as follows. 1. I can adjust the Pitch Trim via the throttle quad, but I have to move it back and forth to adjust the trim. Straight up and down does not work correctly. Still working on finding the problem.2. I am unable to find the STAB Trim (NORM/CUTOUT) key commands. Other than those two items, everything is running good.
