August 7, 201114 yr Does the NGX have callouts on takeoff (80 kts, V1 and rotate)? I flew my first flight with her, and I didn't hear them. Great aircraft, by the way! Greg Goodavish
August 7, 201114 yr Should hear V1... As the old FS95 paper manual used to say: " 'Vee-One, Rotate...V2', about as fast as you can say that" Patrick Houghton
August 7, 201114 yr There's a V1 callout. I think it's under equipment options. FMC > PMDG SETUP > AIRCRAFT > EQUIPMENT
August 7, 201114 yr I don't think there are any 80knots and rotate callouts, only V1?You can enable/disable the callouts in the aircraft pmdg menu P.L. TranAMD Ryzen 5800x; 32 GB Ram; EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3; Win10 64 Bit
August 7, 201114 yr Yea that's what I found as well. It'd be interesting to see if anyone else could figure out how to get the other callouts. I guess supposedly 80 and rotate is being called by the F/O, so PMDG didn't put it in? But all the pushback dialogue is in there... So don't know why. August 7, 201114 yr I could not find an option to have F/O callouts for 80, V1, and rotate in the CDU. I know the MD11 has them and maybe the 747 as well. I personally really like having them so I don't have to have my eyes on the PFD during takeoff roll. I like to look in front of me until at least 200 feet AGL. That may be bad airmanship since it's probably best to monitor the instruments and what's outside, but isn't that what the FO is for?? Adam Adam Hill
August 7, 201114 yr I really miss having F/O callouts. I guess they ran out of resources. Oh no! That can't be. I'm curious to see if a dev will comment. Ruben Schuckit i5 2500k 4.5GHz GTX 560 Ti 8GB memory
August 7, 201114 yr Oh no! That can't be. I'm curious to see if a dev will comment. Yeah, I'd be curious to know what happened as well.
August 7, 201114 yr Hi guys, FO callouts were left out because other addon developers provide this functionality in more detail. Our focus was getting the core aircraft functionality delivered - so we have only included the V1 callout which is part of the aircraft and not a FO callout. Thanks, Armen L CholakianPMDG Sound Engineer
August 7, 201114 yr Fair call on that one, the aircraft after all is the main deal here. Like you say lots of aftermarket products that cover crew aspects of flight. Can anyone recommend a good product that covers these things well. Cheers. Mike Llewellyn
August 7, 201114 yr Hi guys, FO callouts were left out because other addon developers provide this functionality in more detail.I thought so. I think FS2Crew will bring all the callouts. Patric

August 7, 201114 yr FS2crew is sorely needed for a plane like the NGX. Not because of any faults of PMDG, but as compared to the other heavy jets I've flown (like the Airbuses, or 747 and MD-11) there is so much less automation and many more switches to flick around and/or forget to set (both overhead systems wise and with the MCP) that you really need that 2nd set of eyes, ears, and hands! No other simulator aircraft that I can think of is in as dire a need of a virtual copilot's assistance than the 737 series. I have had plenty of practice the past 2 1/2 months with the other NG, and I even bought FS2crew for it. Trust me, FS2crew for the NGX is going to be a game changer, just like the NGX. Thankfully, there is going to be a SDK, so that it will have a clean interface and should read all the internals of the NGX as if it was coded by PMDG itself, making our workload much easier (and realistic!). No more "blind" copilot where you have to make sure you have setup the switches for the copilot beforehand, with the new FS2crew the copilot should be able to read the switches and gauges directly and set as needed. Even if you set drop a flap on final approach, say flaps 1, and forgot to command the copilot to set flap 1, the module will know you already set flaps 1 and is smart enough to show that the next flaps command will be flaps 5. Even with the button version, there was a command to tell the pilot to set the flaps up speed on takeoff, and suprisingly enough, the virtual copilot was able to read the PFD, see where the flaps up manuevuring speed bug was, and set the mcp speed window to match it. How neat is that?!?! We are in for a treat, but I am finding I have my hands full doing everything on the NGX by myself. But that alone is not such a bad thing, as it forces you to learn those flows that you would otherwise just delegate to the guy/gal in the right seat. A.J. Domingo
