Cannot find any STARs for NZQN

Featured Replies

Hi all, I have the latest AIRAC cycle but do not see any STAR's for NZQN (Queenstown) in the FMC. I installed the latest AIRAC cycle from Navigraph into the following folder: C:\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ Is this correct, or should it go into a specific folder in FSX such as a PMDG-specific folder (eg there is a folder called C:\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\PMDG\NavData)? I appreciate any help that can be offered!

could be...NZQN isn't a very large airport and doesn't have ILS (does it)? lots of airports don't have STARs, but have substituted NDB or VOR approaches instead. Mate, check out vatpac.org - ask the question there (its the oceania arm of VATSIM - good bunch of guys who know more about this stuff) or VATNZ.

You shouldn't have had to install any navdata for the NGX. It comes with the latest file. Now that said, looking at the file, you're correct, it only has SIDs, no STARs.

Doesn't Queenstown have that RNP thing where it guides the pilot in via the HUD or other displays. Read about it in Australian Aviation a while back.

Anyone got an update on this. I had tried to put the NZQN.txt from VATNZ which has SIDS/STARS with RNAV, but nothing appears on the FMC for approaches in Queenstown. Only the runways are selectable.Looking at the RNAV charts, is there any way to anter the QNxxx fix/waypoints manually via Lon/Lat ?

guys guys guys, if youre going to fly in Australia or NZ you MUST have this installed http://www.austscene.com/1) Install the latest Navigraph AIRAC2) Install the PMDG 737/MDll Austscene AIRAC (will over write the APP, SID & STAR's for Oz and NZ) The the NAV DATA from this company is perfect and is ALWAYS kept up to date. I not 100% sure if the RNP approaches are published to the Public, if they aren't they probably wont appear in the Austscene DataCheers

These are company owned (AIR NEW ZEALAND) and you need to be checked out on them before going into NZQN. If you look at the forum on this site http://www.vatnz.net/cms/index.php and look up NZQN you will find lots of good info.

This is Navigraph's issue - contact them please, we have nothing to do with the accuracy of the navdata.

Ron,Cheers, this is really helpful, with the approach of the ORBX NZ scenery I'd asked a similar question as the OP, checked out Navigraph and was informed that if their supplier doesn't send them the relevant data then it's not included in their AIRAC cycles...Not a massive help if you want to do some serious fun approaches in what's guaranteed to be amazing scenery. No one else on the Navigraph forums mentioned this, even though I'd asked if anyone clever in the FSX world had worked around it, so thanks! Applause.gif
