Hey all. Just signed up and completed my first flight. I looked at Virtual Westjet when the iFly 737 came out but delayed signing up till PMDG released this FANTASTIC aircraft. Hey all!! Very exiting news I have. I have spoke with Darcy at VWJ and he is very open to have others come in and refurbish the VA. He currently is a very busy guy and simply doesn't have the time to run a Virtual Airline. He also would like to stay along with his two other parters (Darwin and Cameron) as a Board of Directors kind of role which is very exiting considering the knowledge and experience they bring. Now my job is to figure out the "team" we have and start setting up what exactly we want to do with the VA We will need a variety of people to help and contribute and we encourage anyone who has interest to graciously volunteer their time. So feel free to message me if you have interest and i will find a position for you to contribute. How does the VA generate it's routes or crew schedules? I assume that since Westjet is modeled much like Southwest here in the states, that there's not a lot of "hub and spoke" type flying, is there? I would prefer this. I've been looking for another airline with a route structure like Southwest as I love "hopping" to many destinations in a single day instead of coming back to a single airport or two all the time. So I'd be really interested if I could start out in the morning at say CYYC and end up in the evening somewhere in the Caribbean without traversing through a hub multiple times to get there. Also, I have some web development and programming experience if you are still in the need of anyone that can do that. Thanks.

Like having a loadsheet and all that stuff. Tuifly virtual has it and its probably one of the best VA's out there. Hey Kevin, sorry never seen your post earlier, vWJA uses the realworld WestJet schedule. So yes, you could fly Calgary, Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, Toronto, Montego Bay (for an example of Caribbean destination). But they do sort of use hub & spoke system with Calgary, and Toronto being the origin of most flights, but like I said, there are multi leg flights, you can start on one side of the country and work your way straight across. Anything outside of Canada though are flights there and back, ie. Toronto to Las Vegas, you have to come back to Canada, whether it is Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver is up to you.
