September 23, 201114 yr Can't believe just how much I'm still being totally enthralled by this bird. Done countless LPMA approaches - such a hoot!!! Thankfully (and gratefully), I've not had the issues many talk of. The point of this... NONE! Just wanted to remind anyone who hasn't yet made the leap - go get it. And, yet again, to THANK ALL THE PMDG TEAM for brightening my days. You know where I'm at just now, and the NGX is helping enormously to forget my troubles Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)

September 23, 201114 yr Moderator Same here Phil!!!This was well worth the wait, especially since the 738 is my favorite airliner. I don't even consider flying anything else to be honest. Once I got a taste of the accuracy and the way it feels to hand fly, I can't even consider using any of my other airliners at this point. I've already uninstalled all my CaptSim products and my E-Jet 170/190 since I never really used them much at all. To be honest, I dont know what has really kept me from uninstalling the LDS 767 and JS4100 as well, even considering that both are great products and served me well over the past few years, I just can't imagine wanting to fly either anymore.I haven't looked at my FSX log book to see how many hours I have in the NGX yet since release, but it must be a lot considering I fly it at least once a day, sometimes more.I now feel almost complete for FSX. I got my favorite airliner, 2 of my all time favorite airports from FSDT (KDFW, KFLL, KLAX), and a slew of other airports. Now all I need is KPHX from Flightbeam and hopefully a KMIA from FSDT and I will feel completed.Sean Campbell Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
September 23, 201114 yr Same here, It's great to have the old bird back. I've even had the manuals printed out by one of my friends who works in the printing industry for a VERY reasonable price . Some of the younger lads think it's weird with me looking through 737NG while flying in the Airbus lol, one even asked "Your not thinking of moving to RYR, are you?". Haha, It's just so amazing how much of this aircraft is modelled. My favourite flight in the NGX has to be the DUB -> INN run, especially on the approach at sunset while fully utilising the EGPWS system. Such a simple [if you get where I'm coming from, simple isn't really the right word but anyway], yet advanced aircraft. That HUGS is a real something, I'm already looking forward to getting them on our new A350 fleet but that's still 5 years away now. Even some of the quirks of the classics have been brought over to the NGX, it's truly the new standard for any new add-on out there. Hip-Hip for the PMDG team. Rónán. Rónán O Cadhain.
September 23, 201114 yr Same here, just spent £700 on a new rig to take the NGX, getting 50fps at addon sceneries and not ONE CTD.....she's a beaut!!!
September 23, 201114 yr Agreed! Wait until shared cockpit (if it even comes) comes and the NGX will be the best thing that ever existed for FS.
September 23, 201114 yr I actually am bored with it. Nothing against PDMG - the product is great - but a 737 really doesn't excite me. I can't wait for the 777. I am flying the 737 every night to learn as much as possible. Next month I will spend 2 hours in a 737-800W Level D simulator and I want to have all the systems down pretty good for this. It'll give me a good indication how they compare. Right now, I find myself having trouble slowing down on approach from 250 kts to 180 kts and slower . Even with the speed brakes up and the gear down, I can't seem to to my Vref before I hit the OM. Last night I landed at 190 kts and toasted the brakes. I guess I'll just fly slower as I approach the airport. I'll try to video the simulator experience. Paul Gugliotta
September 23, 201114 yr The more I learn about the plane, the more I'm awed by the amount of work that has gone into this simulation. A true masterpiece by PMDG! The more I learn about the plane, the more I'm awed by the amount of work that has gone into this simulation. A true masterpiece by PMDG! Masterpiece indeed Tom. I've said it before and I'll continue to say it... I think the whole PMDG team, added together = pure genius. They seem to have managed to exploit FSX in a way others have yet to manage. The NGX is an absolute work of art. It must've been quite painfull for them to see so many users with issues when launched. I'm sure SP1 will put that right though. They should certainly be proud of their creation.
