OK, so no true overcast. We get it, Microsoft. Are we going to have ATC?

To be fair, these pictures are pretty good. I love the new road look - very curved and smooth - none of the haphazardness of FSX style roads. New lighting looks great - shot 12 - really cool. Cockpit lighting awesomeActually impressed.BUT...Hawaii!! Again! Je-SUS

Why do the clouds in the first scene look like smoke? And are those reflections on the instrument panel glasses?

What doesn't seem to have been solved in Flight is the blurry ground textures - Let's hope they are working on it.The ground in FSX might look OK from 5000 feet, but once you get close, it becomes blurry - even with the best scenery from ORBX, ES, Aerosoft and FranceVFR. Outerra is an example of the opposite:

I really wish people would stop showing things like Outerra demos.Just one visit to their website would show you that comparing something like a current flight sim to Outerra is completely stupid.

I think that the progress of FLIGHT looks good, but not great. That doesn't mean that we have seen everything, assuming this is still early development. As for what is available for us right now, I think that X-Plane 10 looks to have progressed much better. Crisper textures, shading, cloud shadows, beutiful water, lighting, and to some extent, the weather (clouds), and don't even get me started on the night environment, it's not even close. I've heard some say that XP10 looks like FS2004, that is just rediculus. I think MS may meet their match with these two releases, this time. I've only ever used FS, but looks as though I may be changing this year, although, I'll probably just get both.

I'd say that even from these early Flight screenshots, Flight's lighting system is far superior. Not to mention that Flight is still nowhere near release, whereas XP10 will be out very soon. Also, picture number 7 looks like it has cloud shadows to me.....

Yes! No more cartoon roads!Extremely low resolution roads was on of the limitations of the ..... shall we say.... older "unimproved engine".BTW, I just thought that the new engine would be fantastic for a new train sim.Man/woman does not live by wings alone and sometimes, only rails will do..

Wow, this made my day! My Graphics card met the requirements for High settings, and my RAM, CPU and HD space exceed the requirements! :D Does anyone know what the difference is between a GTX 560 and a GTX 560Ti?

I was thinking the exact same thing. It's hard to tell...could just be a much larger mountain causing shadowing, but also may be cloud shadows. I just don't know...

I just find it odd that its in no other screenshots. Following the light (low sun) that dark cloud would not be casting a shadow DOWN, so I think its a hill or mountain, and not a cloud shadow. I guess wishfull thinking. I too want to see cloud shadows!!! Is this feature confirmed in XP10?

Stupid? I was talking about ground textures, not flight sims. Computer graphics are computer graphics, 0s and 1s. Nothing stupid about comparing one planet engine to another either (Outerra vs. ESP).

Yes, 10 has them

I think the picture with the road in it is actually a 3d model of a landmark that happens to have a high detail road/bridge included with it rather than a new general road system for Flight, I do hope I am wrong but I doubt it.

Cheers, Andy.
