November 16, 201114 yr Hey fallows, do you know about great modeled 757 for fsx? i would love to find one thanks in advance, Daniel Daniel choen
November 16, 201114 yr Hi Daniel There are a couple of good 757's there for FSX. Have a look for one made by Quality Wings and the other is from Captain sims. The quality Wings one is what I am using at the moment, it gives you the choice of a simplified cockpit or the choice of being able to use the FMC. The one from captain sim is equally well modelled but has more advanced avionics. Both these models are pay ware but but you maybe able to find some fee ware, maybe some one else might be able to advice you on that. Regards Shaun
November 16, 201114 yr Author Thanks Shaun, i know the qualitywings and captainsim, these two seems to not demonstrate the real deal, the quality wings from what i heard is two simple and the captain sim is heavy and old and not accurate.i used to the 747 400x pmdg and the new ngx, but these two is not my first choice if could pick my own aircraft, i like the 757 better, just wondered if there any others close to the pmdg one, regards and thanks for your help, Daniel Daniel choen
November 16, 201114 yr I think the Captain Sim one is the one that is the closest to the PMDG. There's supposed to be one currently in development by Level D, but it has been in development since the dawn of time and there havent really been any info about the progress of this development. God knows when they'll release it Johan Pettersen
November 16, 201114 yr Hi Daniel I would maybe go check out the captain sim one again, I believe it as just been updated to be more accurate.
November 16, 201114 yr Author Hey thanks, i know about the level d 757, but your so right godddddddddd, knowss, when it will be released, for now, when did captain sim update their 757? recently? worth it? Daniel choen
November 16, 201114 yr They released an update a couple of weeks ago. It fixed a whole bunch of bugs, there are still a couple of issues left tho. As far as the accuracy, the FMC is still suggesting very low vREF, in the 120kts ballpark, I would guess thats inaccurate, its certainly far slower than the vref of the 738 Johan Pettersen
November 16, 201114 yr Daniel. Do a search on this forum. Lots of threads on the 757.I have both the Captain Sim and Quality Wings models.CaptainSim version is more detailed systems wise but very buggy. I've uninstalled mine and will never buy anything from CaptainSim again. Their support is useless and bordering on abusive IMHO.Quality WIngs version has less system control but looks, sounds and flies quite like the real thing. There is the freeware JustFlight 757 but it's just a very basic model. Great sounds and flight dynamics however.Hope this helpsAdam
November 16, 201114 yr CaptainSim version is more detailed systems wise but very buggy. After the 4.6 update, there are very little issues remaining, and IMO, the CS 757 is the most realistic 757 for FSX right now. Shane Gavin
November 17, 201114 yr the FMC is still suggesting very low vREF, in the 120kts ballpark, I would guess thats inaccurate, its certainly far slower than the vref of the 738I think the sheer comparison of vref values leads to a wrong picture here. Different planes, different speeds. So it's not like 'same weight/size/whatever leads to same vref', not at all. In fact, the 737 is a rather fast landing plane, same goes for the MD-11 for example. In the sim, if the FMC gives you the same 'inaccurate' speeds as the flight model demands, you will actually not feel that anything is wrong. From reading, I think the former real world Captain on a 757 was ok with the regime of the vspeeds on the 757, so it's not like some 20 knots away from real values or something. Now I wouldn't vouch for any superior systems and FDE accuracy on the CS 757, but the same goes for the QW. Both give an impression of a 757 in FSX and, in my eyes, only some personal preference items separate them more or less. When thinking about buying the CS, waiting for the Christmas sales may be a good idea as it then comes in for only 10 Euros.
November 17, 201114 yr Since CS released the 4.6 update it is flying like a charm and no bugs for me .Never had th erock &roll issue either.... 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0
November 17, 201114 yr Since CS released the 4.6 update it is flying like a charm and no bugs for me .Never had th erock &roll issue either....I agree the 4.6 update makes the CS757 more enjoyable to fly but I wouldn't say it's bug free. It still does not do a proper flare on an autoland. Essentially it fly's as well as it did in the 4.4 update, before the 4.5 update broke it, but it also fixes a number of display issues. November 17, 201114 yr With v4.4 and also with v4.6 on my system it lands with a perfect flare. 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0
