All is revealed.....Kinect for PC

http://www.tomshardware.com/news/Kinect-Motion-Sensing-sdk-Kinect-Accelerator-xbox,14080.htmlMy bet is the Flight will be one of the first to take advantage. I think it will make for a great experience in that head movements will allow panning that we now only get with Track IR plus you can flip switches, push buttons, rotate buttons, pull brake handles, etc. in the VC through the Kinect interface. I don't think Kinect can be precise enough for flight. I used it many times and it's way too unprecise, beside combo of having that and head movement would be too much for any precision in flight.Kinect is a good toy for many other games, but I hardly believe we're gonna see anything from it in flight. If anything, then only head movement, but still very unprecise.

I am on the complete opposite side of your argument .. the Kinetic would be precise enough to up the enjoyment of Flight 10 fold.

But I thought MS never announced this type of stuff,,, you know development of new stuff, betas, et al... JSkorna said so...

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Show me where they announced the beta. Oh, wait you can't.

Although I tried Kinect, and personally I hated it, but it's coming to the pc soon.Using imaginary objects, and acting as if pressing a button or two is too difficult to do is stupid. (It was harder to pause than to simply press a button.)

Ahhh... now you're rewriting history... your original point, in the other thread was that MS never publicly announces betas...http://forum.avsim.net/topic/354040-my-guess-on-anticipated-great-announcement-in-december/page__st__25

Kinect is loved by many.. including critics. The kinetic with a flight sim would only be used to change the view as you turn your head. Similar to the Trackir peripheral.

They don't seem like critics to me. They seem to be going with the flow.

I would let the kinetic to be used by desperate housekeepers trying to get rid of their blubber.Simmers do not like such a device.

The worst thing about Kinect is that you have to sit about 40 metres away from the screen for it to work properly, so you need a room the size of a open plan factory and a screen the size of an Imax cinema, yes I am exaggerating, but you do need to stand about 8 feet away from the screen, so its useless for FS and Flight. They did Kinetic head tracking in Forza 4 and to say it is shite is an understatement of monumental proportions, not exaggerating LOL.gif .

Cheers, Andy.
