November 25, 201114 yr which plane did you try, and did u try to adjust your settings ? I'm new to XP as well but I didn't have this feeling while trying the demo and I'm a RW pilot as well.`It's the same with every plane. For example I can hold still the yoke and still get some weird unstable reaction of the aircraft like if it was in some severe winds. I don't know what setting other than weather can affect that? Maybe if they had settings for the flight dynamics... Sagga Toure

Cheers, Andy.

If they tried to make an accurate flight dynamics then this behavior is over accurate and thus unrealistic. It's even funny how unstable you can get when trying to do a straight and level flight. Maybe I'm too used to FS... Fortunately it took me less than 3 hours to download the demo if figure out they had not fixed this "bug"? Maybe I'm too lazy but I don't feel like fighting with the controls all the time to maintain a smooth flight... Sagga Toure
November 26, 201114 yr Well, I've tried it, but I prefare the FS user interface and how the view system in FS works, Once X plane get's that worked out, then I'll be sure to buy it... Rónán O Cadhain.
November 26, 201114 yr I thought the flight dynamics were a bit weird. I flew the 747 in a 90 degree bankangle for minutes before the demo time ran out. Seemed a bit unrealistic to say the least. But ok, the flight dynamics of the default planes in FSX arent that great either Johan Pettersen
November 27, 201114 yr Just tried the demo, can't say I'm too enthusiastoc about it. The planes don't look that good and the flight models are a bit weird. Not saying it's a bad sim, just that I don't think the improvement is big enough.I'll just pray that Flight is going to be a proper sim...
November 27, 201114 yr Tried it and still can't get used to X-Plane and the flight dynamics. November 27, 201114 yr Just tried the demo but as always xplane flight dynamic is very unrealistic. I know they say the opposite but It's very very unstable when flying with no winds, CAVOK conditions. I don't know why is that but every xplane version I tried was the same. I don't know why do I need to fight with the controls to maintain the aircraft flight path in a clear weather, no winds, no turbulence? To just give you an example it's much easier for me to control an aicraft in FSX with severe weather than controling it in xplane, no weather at all. I hope I'm not the only who think so. I fly a c152 in rw and it's even easier to control... I am a rw pilot and I find it realistic. Maybe if you actually give it time. The default planes are a little twitchy sometimes, but i feel the flight model has been improved since v9 and is very realistic. Also, try using planes besides the default ones and make sure you use trim to maintain level flight....the CRJ for X-plane is definitely one of the most realistic planes in terms of flightmodel i have ever seen. I think FS is kind of clunky and i don't like the UI, and sometimes it seems more like a game then a simulator so that is why X-plane is my sim of choice.

Xwind landings, turbulence are great. The flight model in xp10 in my opinion has improved greatly-there is now stability and the rubber band roll effect is gone-I could never quite use prior versions because of the twitchyness. To experience what it can offer you really have to get an excellent payware aircraft-but I think it has much to offer. I'll be using both sims for different reasons.Geof Applegate Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

The carrenado M20J is good too, pretty much nowadays the payware models for X-plane have really good flight models, very realistic

Do you mean buy a payware aircraft to use with a 10 min demo. The UI takes 10 mins to work out so you never get much flying done. An unlimited flight time with a good default aircraft would have a been a better selling point than a 10 minute flight with aircraft that are known to be poorly modelled. -Iain Watson-

I have already bought payware planes for v9 so i was able to use them in v10. I think the X-plane UI is extremely simple and easy to use. All the default aircraft in v10 are not poorly modeled, most like the 747, Baron, kingair etc are really nicely done and better then any default aircraft that msfs came up with....the realism of the flight model is in your opinion. and if they gave you unlimited flying time i guess it wouldn't be a demo would it?
November 27, 201114 yr really the only reason why i use fs anymore is for vatsim flying ...You can use xplane on vatsim Johan Pettersen
November 27, 201114 yr You can use xplane on vatsimyeah i know its just that how Xsquawkbox displays traffic ins't exactly pretty lol
