Looks very "painted" to me. And way to bright. I compared the screenies with Google Earth and based on that determined it's not good enough to fit my standards (set by FlyTampa, FSDT, OrbX and some Aerosoft airports).I still have hopes FlyTampa or FSDT will take a shot at it, so I'll wait for that.

Is it just me or is the mural on the side of the parking garage upside down? I could use a good KSAN, but this one is a bit crude for the price...DJ

The developer has a site which chronicled the work on KSAN; http://devinci.invisionzone.com/

I live near San Diego, and yes the mural is actually painted on "up-side-down." It is easily visible from several street locations. I'd be surprised if FlyTampa did a KSAN for FSX....this airport is not a big airport, and there are many more airports in the world that might yield more sales for them. I've seen KSAN in a demo, I'll buy it as there is nothing on the market for FSX.Bill Clark

Bill,I will be surprised if FlyTampa does not eventually do a "Rebooted" version of their previous FS2004 release for KSAN.For an airport that is statistically one of the busiest single-runway airports in the world, it might be deserving of a remake. I spent 7 of the past 10 years in San Diego and used to enjoy being directly under jets on short-final crossing I-5. I think I read once that KSAN has about 600 departures and landings daily. The only other KSAN that has been in the works is Cielosim.com. However, the last forum update on the website was in July 2011. If ever released, it would certainly be a crowd pleaser. This release does have some surprising scenery objects like the roof-top parking, palm trees along Harbor Drive and somewhat of a rendering of Marine Corps Recruit Depot. I do agree with an earlier post that the colors are too bright, but we have been without a quality addon KSAN for many years.

Keith,I hope you are right and I am wrong about FlyTampa. But is the only KSAN I'm aware of for FSXBill

Bill,You are correct that no other FSX KSAN exists and this is a good gap-filler.Good luck flying!Keith

Actually, there is another KSAN that was just released here at AVSIM on October 29th by Glenn Johnson. He did a nice job... even included the new gates and other proposed changes. Check the library.

Thanks for the mural info - wonder why they did that? I suppose I'll have to pick it up, although I do wish things had been done with a bit more finesse - SD is my home town, though I haven't been there in years.DJ

Any word from these guys on AES support?

I'll have to check out the Glenn Johnson scenery. The preview shots look pretty good with the photo-real textures.

I've seen both the freeware and payware versions of the scenery. The payware scenery has more details, and as a whole, looks better. The Devinci version is compatible with the MegaScenery Southern Calif scenery or for those who don't have this photo scenery package as well. But for the price, the free download version is a good alternative. So, I'm going to purchase Devinci version. If FlyTampa ever makes a version for FSX, I'll take a look at that, but since I fly a lot out of KSAN, I'm not going to wait for them as an updated version may never come to pass.Bill Clark

There a couple of other freeware KSAN scenery files available. In my downloads I have:sandiegointernationalfsx_279195.zipandsan_diego_extras.zipI found both here at AVSIM earlier, but have never installed them yet. Not sure how good they are.
