Weekend Update 09DEC11: NGX SP1b Updates Available

Te wings are seen also in real life in all models, and there are also items in MEL (minimum equipment list) that take this in count. For example the slat position indication on the slats that are visible maybe inoperative (in certain conditions) provided you can see them from windows. Obviously krueger flap and depending on model one other slat is not in the list as it cannot be seen.In the NGX I can see them in all models, and in the -600 I can see also the engine.fsx2011121708591052.jpgThis is the -800fsx2011121708570426.jpg

Well thats weird if you guys are using SP1b because I do not see the wings from Virtual Cockpit on any of the 800-900 models. Why would some people see them and others not?

Open the performance manager in the start menu. Change your settings to 'high res' - wings should now be visible... SP1b took the wings away in low res mode.Adam Turley

I did open Performance Manager and it was already on high res. I did switch to low res then back again to high and still can not see the wings in any of the 800 or 900 models. (Do not have the 6-700 series). What could be causing some people to not be able to see the wings? My aircraft .cfgs all show Current with Build: 1.00.3116 guess I am going to try reinstalling again and see what happens.

Update: On a whim I tried loading up the 747-400x and I notice I can't see the wing from the 747-400 virtual cockpit either and I know I used to be able to. I been looking all over FSX for a setting I might have turned off that would cause this. Is there some wing view option somewhere in FSX that might be causing this because it is off?

Reinstalled with NGX installer wIth HotfIx 1,2,3, included and then installed SP1b, still same issue. No Wing tip showing from Virtual Cockpit. Plus in the 747 I seem to remember being able to see at least the red light and part of the winglet. Now I see nothing. Anyone got any ideas how to fix this? It really starting to annoy me now. Are you moving you moving your eye point to the left using the control/enter/backspace keys?

I am using the HAT View switch to look behind me to the left. I am starting to wonder if REX light textures have anything to do with this issue although I don't see how. I also go into Virtual Cockpit mode and then use the HAT to turn around and look behind me and it is same thing. No wing showing just like the other guy reported so whatever the issue is we both have it.

Okay I figured it out. Default view point on mine you can't see the Wings from Virtual Cockpit. What did was move the eye point view a bit to the left and then turn around and look behind me and now I can see the wing tips. I guess it just easier for people with Track IR and they don't have to do this.

I moved my point of view when I made the shots, by paying attention to not pass te cockpit walls/windows.Probably with point of view correctly centered you can see only the tip for a -600 that is shorter and the wing is a bit forward respect of the other models. For the other you need to move your body, the better way is trackir ;)

I installed the update, ran up FSX, and selected the NGX. It now wants me to enter the activation serial again. Is this normal?

FS2004 Forever

no its not normal it shouldn't ask you for the key again something has gone amiss with your update some how

I'm going to check this again with SP1b, but on a flight with the AA 738, after passing 18,000 feet, the ND did not flash indicating so....
