VHHX Airport DATA and NAV Information

Recommended Posts

Hello allI was trying to do a flight RJAA - VHHX, FSX recognized the airport and I made a flight plan using Vroute information with no problem, however, trying to enter destination airport at the NGX MCDU it wasn't recognized! I understand the airport is not in use any more, any one has a solution for that please ?Any help is appreciatedRegards

You can manually edit the AIRAC file to include it. I am sure there is a writeup how to do this somewhere.

Either that or just manually enter in the waypoints from the charts. That's what I did. The final turns to line-up from the "checkerboard" have to be done manually anyway as in the RW. The FMC will not make the turns quick enough and require sometimes a steeper bank in heavy winds. This is an approach that requires a pilot, not just a computer!

HiFly yes that is true, no problem with flying the procedures by the way of custom waypoints, however that wont help with destination VHHX...

Aah! I now understand the OP. You cannot enter "VHHX" as destination because it is not listed that way in the current airac! In the PMDG menu under navdata menu, open the airports.dat file and you can carefully make a "VHHX" entry and with some calculations also enter the start and end coordinates of the runway. I use FDE to obtain the info. Also note the magvar being used by FSX That way not only will it then appear in the FMC database (careful to follow the exact same format and spacing as the other airport entries) but it will also be lined up with the way it is presented in FSX. Now you should be good to go. Sorry about the initial misunderstanding.

Hello againI followed the steps mentioned at Robin's link exactly and I used Craig's advices, for unknown reason the MCDU wouldn't accept VHHX as a destination, does any one know if there is NAV DATA update has to be made to the FMC (I mean through one of it's pages or something like that?) ?Regards

All of that gate stuff at the end of the sidstar file is not used by pmdg. Make sure all the white spaces are space characters not tabs, and that in files where the data seems to be lined up in columns you follow the column order. Should work.

    AVSIM's 2020 Fundraising Goal

Donate to our annual general fundraising goal. This donation keeps our doors open and providing you service 24 x 7 x 365. Your donation here helps to pay our bandwidth costs, emergency funding, and other general costs that crop up from time to time. We reset this goal every new year for the following year's goal.
