December 23, 201114 yr Hey, Paul, did you ever wish you had 3 widescreen monitors instead?Looking at your setup, I think those old 4x3 screens are better when using three. They are still available new but hard to find, probably won't be any new ones next year... 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. December 27, 201114 yr Commercial Member Picked up a set of Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals...Wow... absolutely amazing. For years I've been using a MS FFB2 twist stick as my rudder. I love the tension adjustment - I can make them really tight like the real ones I'm used to. They are well-built, installation was fairly easy (I actually had to read the manual to learn about the reverse axis lol), but other than that - cool beans!A bit pricey, but I got them off Amazon for about $180 with free shipping.Highly recommended.Ryan,I got the pedals based on your recommendation and I love them. I do also have some old ones made by CH Products and in comparisson, the Combat version make the CH Products pedals feel like they are made by Fisher Price. REX AccuSeason Developer REX Simulations

December 28, 201114 yr I also just bought the combat pedals myself (switching over from CH which I never liked) but I could use some advice from anyone who's had a similar issue:While I followed the instructions in their booklet and had no problems getting them to function in FSX, I am not too pleased with the braking action here...since the brake pedal throw is quite short I find the sensitivity to be too much, yet it seems that trying to adjust the sensitivity from within the FSX options menu has little to no effect. I've tried to use the included saitek software to adjust it but it's use is a tad confusing. How can I reduce sensnitivity and also increase a bit of deadzone so my brakes stop sticking after i take my foot off? Am i better off removing the saitek software and drivers and just letting Win7 install its own driver? Dave Kalin Excel Classes Computer Lessons
January 16, 201214 yr Author As an update to this thread: Be warned... I must have gotten a bad batch but the tension adjustment no longer works after two short months! (less actually). I adjust the middle knob and it makes a weird "sproing" sound and then the rudders keep the friction for about 4-5 depresses and they go go to lax tension. Fortunately I've still got a 2 wk return period with Amazon (thank goodness!)But they no longer work with the tension adjustment... I'm extremely disappointed. For 200 bucks (retail) you'd think they wouldn't break after two months of wear! January 26, 201214 yr Hmmm, that really is disappointing.I think Saitek's stuff is made to break.I am just today returning my TQs to Amazon due to spiking on one axis and faulty buttons which don't always work. That is after 1 and 3/4 years. Also thought they are gonna keep working longer. Been thinking about the PFC TQ, but those are oh so expensive.Say, how are the pedals on the differential braking? I see very little on youtube on that, and what I saw, didn't pour very much confidence into me. Braking should be variable from soft touch up to hard braking. Diff. brakes aren't just on-off...

Braking should be variable from soft touch up to hard braking. Diff. brakes aren't just on-off...After getting the Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas, (worth every penny IMHO) I had to purchase a set of rudder pedals. I chose the Saitek Cessna pedals, and up to now (1 month) am very pleased with them. I calibrated them through FSUIPC, and, although yes, they do apply progessively, when braking gently, one brake ALWAYS came on slightly before the other, causing a bit of a swerve. The only way I could brake in a straight line was to brake rather heavy from the start. I have no idea whether this is a fault with the pedals or me not moving both feet in perfect harmony. As I never use differential braking (95% of my flying is on the F104S) I got round this by assigning both the left and right brake to both pedals, so, I now get gentle progessive braking on both wheels, whether I use the left, right, or both pedals. Not the ultimate solution, but it works perfectly for my needs.Russell. Edited January 26, 201214 yr by Smoky942

January 27, 201214 yr As for a chair, I use an old Audi chair that is extremely comfortable - I just had to build a base for it and then attach it together with the pedals to a plank that I have on the floor. I used to have an office chair but I was rolling around on the floor all the time! :DAs been stated, having pedals is quite underrated. With an airliner you usually only use it when taxiing but with smaller aircraft it is of course a very important part of the flying. Besides my Saitek yoke and pedals I also have a Saitek X45 hooked up and it has a separate throttle unit with rudder control. With FSUIPC I can assign a tiller function to the rudder control so that I can during taxi (with an airliner) do my control checks with the pedals while steering with the tiller! Not something you can't live without but still nice! Krister LindénEFMA, Finland------------------
