January 10, 201214 yr What about terrain "tearing"? I do get that problem with higher values set for TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS. Hi Jason, when you use the word terrain tearing, I assume you are not reffering to Vsync tearing? January 10, 201214 yr Hello AllI have tried (I swore i would never again try FS9 cfg tweaks ,but just could not resist one more go) Paul's CFG edits, I have to report that in my case no discernible difference in texture quality or appearance was noted ,apart from a slight shimmering in distance . I am just about to restore my original CFG.This is not a criticism ,but rather it just says to me that the appearance of FS9 (like beauty ) is in the eye of the beholder. :( :(
January 10, 201214 yr it just says to me that the appearance of FS9 (like beauty ) is in the eye of the beholder.True, but also in the eye of your rig/system/graphics/settings/addon combo. In my case I have clearly noticed:- reduced ground texture blurries (the best result I've ever achieved)- higher ground texture sharpness- better cloud coverage (takes some FPS but looks incredible)

January 10, 201214 yr Paul, 4000 ? I think on your nasa supercomputer it might work, but on the computers of normal people?
January 10, 201214 yr I run unlocked FPS with VSync on app controlled so I am locked to 60 FPS... That number is a multiplier when locking your FPS so on my system it is irrelevant....On locked FPS, worst case scenario is it will default back to max of 400, there is no adverse effect. That is what my .cfg happen to say when I checked it and with the results I am happy with. In the words of a very wise man, if it ain't broke don't fix it and mine ain't broke :) knock on wood, hop on left leg three times will spitting and throwing salt over shoulder to fight off jinx I just put on myself... Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
