January 7, 201214 yr I hope that MS suits are following the outrage from the simmers and not just the Xbox fans. It's clear to me at they should offer 2 versions of Flight and dare I say price the PRO version higher to allow 3rd party addons and the extras we expect from a sim.
January 7, 201214 yr I shouldn't think there's any technical reason why this couldn't happen. It depends on the suits and their spread sheets. FS2024 • PMDG 738, 77F • FSL A321 • A2A Comanche, Aerostar • BS Baron, Bonanza, Caravan Pro • JF Tomahawk • TAOG H500C BeyondATC • GSX Pro • ChasePlane & Flow Pro • TDS GTNXi • FSUIPC • AutoFPS • RealTurb 9800X3D B650E • ROG OC RTX 5090 • 64GB DDR5-6000 • VKB Gladiator, STECS, T-Rudder • Tobii 5 • ISP 1 Gbps
January 7, 201214 yr Only few days passed by and I am already starting to see a new wave of great optimism.I suggest to avoid to fall into the mistake twice, we have just been hit on our teeth, it would be fool to support the hand that has just fed us with poison.Instead of " fed us " I would have told " Fed Ex " but Flight misses jets so I can't say it.
January 7, 201214 yr Commercial Member It wont happen. They already closed FS development because they didnt get so much money from it, and making Flight Pro would probably take another few years of programming and adding whole world.
January 7, 201214 yr They already have the whole world in FSX.. they could include a modified version of that.. maybe include more OSM-derived data, not completely unlike XP10 does.It would still take some time though, but since they have a big team it'd be faster. hopefully. Then again, there are zero indications that MS is interested in it at this time, and they've disgrunteled a lot of devs, so i'm not keeping my hopes high..Instead i've ordered Aerofly FS and will be looking into XP10 :)
January 7, 201214 yr I assume Flight became what it is because of a very tight development budget. The limited scenery is a key indicator for this, they wanted to do things right but could only concentrate on a very small area with the given budget.I however expect the MS DLC philosophy to fail and they will soon include the known 3rd party developers into the whole concept. Either this or they let the whole product die completely. From what I have read in some other forums / threads is also that the majority of developers involved int he project have been contractors and were no fixed MS employees. A company who has future plans for a product (family) would probably not rely on external personal to that extend....
January 7, 201214 yr Moderator They already have the whole world in FSX.. they could include a modified version of that..Yes, they have (had) the whole world, but......since they've completely changed the way that data has been converted so it can be compiled/compressed into a single proprietary format file, it would cost a lot of time and money to do what you suggest. January 7, 201214 yr Me think it will be in the DLC's from day one of release of FLIGHT.Extra Islands - 10$AI Air and road traffic - 10$Non mission based ATC - 10$Jet package - 10$Real world weather - 10$Base continent - 20$ eachAdd on airports - 30$ each Gerrit

You will get a few more planes and areas to explore - likely similar in size to Hawaii. There will be frequent updates to what pass for missions and based on interest in new areas/planes, MS will endeavor to develop them if they feel it will be profitable. Anything is possible, but many of the things listed is not probable.

But i think MS will have to make Flight expandable to a level beyond FSX to be succesfull. At this point (from what i"ve seen) i would go spend money on Gardening Simulator before Flight. Problem here is that people are implying that Flight is not designed to have more hard core features. I am still not sure what to make of it.
January 8, 201214 yr Even if this is something they plan to do, why would you pay for it? Why accept something that is mediocore simply b/c its free than pay to have all that content when FSX six years ago was released with an entire world, thousands of airports and multiple GA and Commercial aircraft! Its like admitting you're freely taking part in MS's little bait and switch program. They bait you with a free dl, than want you to pay for extra content. I say don't spend a dime and let Flight stew. Brandon Doolittle
