Do we have a real world NG driver here who has flown the LOWI circle to land?

I'd like to talk to someone who's flown this approach in the NG real life - please get in touch with me at [email protected] if you'd like to help out. I'm using this approach in the 2nd tutorial flight and I'd like to make sure it's 100% accurate to how this is done at a real airline. Thanks!

Ryan, maybe you can find one by asking the Austrian Section of Vatsim: http://www.vacc-austria.org/Or you try it via Austrian Virtual.. They have a Subdomain of the real Austrian and good connections to the real Austrian Airline: http://virtual.austrian.com/hq/+ I mailed your request to a real Austrian Pilot, maybe he can help you

Shortest route is to analyze the World Air Route series on video or DVD Transavia 737-800 part Innsbruck Approach. I already posted the simulated procedure and some of our fellow simmers have looked at my 767 Eastern and 737 Western approach for RW08 on my YouTube channel http://www.youtube.c.../simbanl/videos and is 100% based on the real world procedure from the Dutch airline company Transavia who have a weekly scheduled flight on LOWI. Part 4 of my EDDS to LOWI flight is showing flightdeck and external views of the approach including F/O interaction and ATC. Despite all the argues I have with some forum members here about the realism, you can check it by yourself with the World Air Route film and the LOC/DME East approach for RW08 Circle to Land and is a very detailed part of the movie. Short summary with the Transavia 737/800 flown in the WAR movie: High drag approach starting at RTT NDB at 9500 ft and Gear Down/Flap 30 Configuration at 140 kts. Following the LOC to AB (Absam) to 4500ft and break off to the left on a heading of 229 They are talking about reference points and the first one will be the earliest look at the large Europe Bridge (Brenner Motor/ highway to Italy) on the left side. I know that some simmers using INN NDB fix in their FMC/FMS but flying overhead INN is way to far and you can expect an encounter with a Cumulus Graniticus. That’s the reason why they using the visual reference points. After all, the RW08 procedure is 100% a Visual Approach… As soon the bridge comes insight, turn right to a heading of 264 and you stayed clear of the mountains. Descent further to 3700ft and join right hand downwind RW08. The next reference point before turning to Baseleg is the western part of the small town Axams. (Tip: Look at the surrounding area in Google Earth to familiarize yourself ) Between turning Base and Final, clean up 800 ft to catch the PAPI lights RW08 at +/-2900ft and after turning to final, do your landing checklist. Exact descent and landing speed, depends on your actual PAX. Missed approach: The approach chart is given two procedures, 1st: smaller aircraft, maximum radius of turn 0,9Nm or 1700 meter, fly runway heading till 5000ft over AB and make a right hand 180 back for joining downwind RW08 again. 2st: Bigger aircraft, in these case the 737-800, fly runway heading and climb back to 9500ft and hold over RTT as published. Note: I normally fly these procedure online on VATSIM on Austria Weekly Wednesday but due to upcoming busy traffic on VATSIM Austria LOWI, I personally perform the approach in Gear Down, Flaps 15 at 160kts and slowing down on downwind to 140kts and flaps 25 configuration to avoid traffic jam with guys who still coming in with 747's at 220 kts. In FSX default scenery, a lot of visuals are not supported so Aerosoft’s Innsbruck Approach scenery is highly recommended. Happy landings…

Well, maybe I am... I kissed the real Tarmac after RW08 CTL several times but NOT with a 737 but procedure is the same and by the way, I was giving attention to the World Air Routes Video with a 737-800 RW approach and a compilation of that, including the specific 737 for so far, you will find in my comment!!!

Makes no sense going argue about my RW experience in these topic. The procedure as described and seen on the WAR movie and also my procedure simulation on Youtube is 100% real and anyone who is claiming something different have to contact Transavia to tell them that they are flying a wrong procedure in real world…But hé, if they are in doubt and want to check it with a current 737NG RW on LOWI jockey, Go ahead...

If I recall from previous posts, Mr simba_nl is in fact an ex-KLM pilot. Correct me if I'm wrong, simba_nl, but did you not make that superb 767-300ER video for FS2Crew?

Rick Almeida

Which is... Well... Exactly what they want to do...

Name available upon request

Ryan, pretty sure Berni aka "Circletoland" has experience here. Might wanna try to contact him, although I believe he might be in Canada right now, so I'm not sure if he's avail but it'll be worth the try for sure.sig.gif

Exactly, and showing the real procedure for LOWI but not with the PMDG 737, maybe that's the problem...

What NAPD procedure is used in LOWI? I mean thrust reduction and acceleration altitude.
