February 16, 201214 yr I have been learning to do VOR to VOR flying with the autopilot (default Cessna) and was wondering why when I just do normal nav that I don't get the white arrow at the bottom, what am I missing? If I hit gps it follows the flight path. The video I watched basically said all I had to do was put in the frequency for the nav radio in nav 1, and it should work out, I do know that I have to do something reguarding moving the position of the VOR 1, but I move that all around and don't get the white arrow, so again I ask, am I missing something?
February 16, 201214 yr Every DA aircraft with GPS and autopilot has a NAV vs. GPS switch somewhere on the Instrument Panel. NAV: AP Follows the VOR (or ILS LOCalizer), GPS: AP Follows the flight plan active in the GPS. Cheers,- jahman.
February 16, 201214 yr Make sure you have the correct freq in the correct radio and it is active. Verify by selecting the audio for the NAV1 receiver in the audio panel and listen for the morse code for the VOR (check against chart).scott s..
February 16, 201214 yr It may not be a NAV/GPS switch per se. For example, if you are flying with a Garmin GNS530W in a Beech Duke, the Garmin unit has a CDI soft key that you use to switch between GPS and VLOC (VOR). Edited February 16, 201214 yr by superglide17 Joe Brown

More then likely you didnt have the correct frequency tuned in, or you were too far from the VOR. search You tube VOR navigation/FSX and you will find a wealth of great videos. Noah Bryant

February 17, 201214 yr jets and VOR navigation, (I am speaking of default fsx aircraft) is it as simple as a GPS and nav switch of somekind?Yes.Cheers,- jahman.

Just curious...The Realair SF260 does not have a GPS, so why is it sad it does not have a NAV/GPS switch? Cheers, Bert AMD Ryzen 5900X, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3080 Ti, Windows 11 Home 64 bit, MSFS 2024

February 17, 201214 yr I swear, I couldn't find the end of the runway without my GNS530. Pitiful. :( Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.

February 17, 201214 yr Ya know Jahman, you're the second guy in recent days who has recommended the EFB. I'm going to have to give it a good look. Thanks for the link. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.

Thanks for the link.I would have bought it a long time ago already if it could be run with FSX NOT in windowed mode... And since I don't have a spare laptop lying around, I didn't get it. Looks great though...
