February 22, 201214 yr Is it possible in SP1C to include a toggle for the fuel cutoff switches?Right now they have separate idle/cutoff commands through the CDU key commands. The problem is I want to put my fuel cutoff switches on the bottom half of two rocker switches to my Saitek throttle quad, not use one entire rocker switch for each cutoff lever.Any chance this can happen, PMDG? February 22, 201214 yr Just wondering, can't you do that in the FSX options? Manfred G. Ships are cooler that you think.
February 22, 201214 yr Author Just wondering, can't you do that in the FSX options?No.FSX default commands are:Mixture (idle cutoff) - Ctrl + Shift + F1Mixture (lean quickly) - Ctrl + Shift + F2Mixture (enrich) - Ctrl + Shift + F3Mixture (full rich) - Ctrl + Shift + F4PMDG commands are:ENG 1 CUTOFF - Ctrl + Shift + F1ENG 1 IDLE - Ctrl + Shift + F2ENG 2 CUTOFF - Ctrl + Shift + F3ENG 2 IDLE - Ctrl + Shift + F4I need a toggle for ENG 1 and ENG 2. Two switches. AJ Pongress
February 22, 201214 yr Let me get this right. Do you want idle and cut off a one command? If so, I'm guessing your ultimate aim is to achieve cutoff yess...so can't you just set cut off as your command instead? If not (and by the way I haven't tried this) dou you have fsuipc? If so, look into seeing if the macro command can do what you want.I'm no expert, I'm just guessing. Richie Lumsden

When I press button A again, I want the levers to go to cutoff. Same for button B on the other engine.Right now, the only thing I can do is assign button A to idle, and button B to cutoff, which means I need 4 buttons to operate two fuel cutoff levers. If not (and by the way I haven't tried this) dou you have fsuipc? February 22, 201214 yr It sounds like you have two buttons available for this function and you want the idle/cutoff lever to function like the default "g" key for the landing gear (i.e. 1 press of "g" gear raises, the second press... gear lowers). I'm unfamiliar with the Saitek Throttle quad. Are there any toggle switches available? Or any other buttons/switches that will stay "engaged" until pressed again? I've got a TM Warthog, and was able to achieve your goal through FSUIPC (Idle when toggle is flipped up, and cutoff when toggle is flipped down... or "released"). Buddy Morgan Specs removed by Admin. February 22, 201214 yr Ah ha ok...I'll tell you what I have done with my saitek quadrant.Firstly I have two so I have assigned a separate axis for reverseIn buttons and switches, when you go into the button part of the quadrant, I have assigned ctrl+shft+F1 (cutoff)Ticked Keypress not to be heldIn the bottom section where it says, press key(s) to be held when you release this button, I have put in ctrl+shft+F2 (Idle)In the axis assignment, I calibrated the throttle axis using about 7/8ths of the saitek throttle range as the full throttle range. (If that makes sense)I then set a range using the last 1/8th of the throttle using the "Set up to 10 ranges for action" on the rhs of the axis assignment page. Below this I assigned "Throttle Cut" as the command to be sent wen this range is entered.I know this is not using the buttons, but it's how I use them and it's just another setup to think about, as it then frees up the rockers below the throttles for assigning something else.So this is what happens, Just above the 0 (zero) mark on the Saitek throttle axis is Throttle cut. Move up and down the throttle range as normal. Get into this range again it's a forced idle. Go into the red, engine cuts off...come out of the red, you're back to Idle.Hope this helps....I might be able to pm you some screen shots of the set up if that's what you want Edited February 22, 201214 yr by Richiebacardi Richie Lumsden

February 23, 201214 yr Author snipThanks, but I use the reverser zones for my throttle reversers.I need to put the fuel cutoff commands on the rocker switches, not on the lever axis.I'm pretty sure you could write a LUA script or whatever FSUIPC uses to get the functionality you are looking forI can't write .lua script, so I wouldn't know where to begin. February 23, 201214 yr This may be a really stupid suggestion, but with the macro profile software that came with my saitek controller I can assign different key presses to one direction of a switch and another macro to another (i.e. push down - one command; release/pull up, second command. Thus I can have two commands on one button. Obv on a button, unless you want to hold it down the whole time until you release it it's no good, but on a switch...Or is this just what Richie suggested above?bestjake JAKE EYREIt's a small step from the sublime to the ridiculous...Napoleon Bonaparte

February 23, 201214 yr Author snipThanks Guenter! But that's not necessary. Also sent you a PM.This may be a really stupid suggestion, but with the macro profile software that came with my saitek controller I can assign different key presses to one direction of a switch and another macro to another (i.e. push down - one command; release/pull up, second command. Press a button, it performs a command, release the button it performs a different command. This doesn't help my problem. The Saitek throttle quad has rocker switches, not toggle switches. If I map fuel cutoff to a switch, and map fuel idle on releasing it, starting the engines will be fine but when I want to cutoff fuel at the end of the flight I can't because releasing the switch makes the cutoff lever go back to idle. This really isn't a hard thing for PMDG to include. All I want is a toggle key command for the fuel cutoff levers. Is this something that can be done for future service packs? (hopefully SP1C?) Can anyone from PMDG respond on this please? Edited February 23, 201214 yr by trip7cap AJ Pongress
February 23, 201214 yr HiFor what i know the easiest way is to use LINDA. I am just curious why you dont use it to resolve your question ? Michel Veréb
