Another thing I don't like about MS Flight...

... is the lack of information about upcoming DLC... When will we get the first updates with new options (what new options?) and when will we get new DLC (what kind of DLC)...?I know that right now it is rather useless to talk about it (and to start this topic  ) but well... I am just so curious that I just HAVE to talk about it here!!! Sorry! It's a real shame we know NOTHING of what is coming. If only I knew that next wednesday something new would be released, I would be happy as a little kid already, even if they didn't say what it will be. But know we know absolutely NOTHING and I can't stand it... so sorry for posting this useless post, but I just had to post it. B)(You always hope someone at MS will read your post and actually react to it... Yeah, right...)

HelloAcording to the interview I saw with Joshua we are looking at around three months for the next DLC.My guess is a reworked Extra and some new missions, whats your guess ?

And NO Track IR support, augh!I am pretty sure, I could complete some of these "challenges" much easier, if I could use my Track IR!! :Money Eyes:

J van E, I just wrote a post about things I like about Flight, and I do agree completely with you here--I would love to see some hints. I confess to also dealing with getting used to X-Plane 10, and the availability of beta updates every few days really is encouraging. I think the power of Flight could be...could be...if Microsoft teases us regularly with upgrades. I would love to see the attention they put into Hawaii also applied to other areas, esp. my area, New England. Also, as done by Orbyx, it would be great if MS would occasionally offer us a good upgrade for free.Dick

My guesses; one or more of the following: Given the references in the flying tips a helicopter (R22 or Jetranger?), something capable of Mach 3 (perhaps SR-71 given the aerocache reference?), a Dreamliner (given the rumours of MS taking pictures of it) plus somewhere to fly it to (Seattle plus surroundings?) or maybe the Dreamliner will (initially) only be a static object at Boeing field.Guessing can be fun, as long as you remember you're only guessing.

Altogether, I am missing feedback from the MS team..Bits of information dribble out from beta testers who have been asked to "spread the word"...Why can MS not communicate with us via the FS website or some other place and tell uswhat shortcomings (like no brake axis assignment) are being fixed and what kind of timeframewe should expect. In addition to upcoming DLC, there are obvious things like an operational autopilot in the Maulethat would be nice to hear about!

Unfortunately, when it's taken too far and becomes rampant speculation it does nothing but create discourse, anger, embarrassment and irrational thinking.

There's also references in the flight tips about only being able to fuel powered aircraft at airports that have the facilities, so maybe a glider to have fun with the lift along the ridges :).But you have to remember that they are probably monitoring how everything is running in the first week(s?) after release. And the accountants might be checking how much is being sold to see if the platform is viable :P. Patience is a virtue, right? :)

As a beta tester we've been asking about DLC. The canned response we get is "we're cannot discuss future plans"

Unfortunately, that seems to be the "MS way" of communicating with customers, which standsin stark contrast to some of our favorite addon vendors...IMHO, that takes away a lot fun in our hobby!

And that's the one thing about MS and other software companies that blow my mind, i.e. the shroud of secrecy. It's amazing how some art houses love and communicate with their customers and some that completely blow off their base. The latest series of reviews of Flight from all corners is that folks aren't reviewing it for what it is now, but as if they have some magic friggin 8 ball that tells them to say " Flight will be awesome, don't worry we'll get everything back as DLC so it appeals to everyone. Yay!"NOBODY here or anywhere knows what the future of Flight will be other than Joshua Howard and MGS.I'm waiting for some Avsim soothsayer to tell me otherwise

I guess the accountants have spoken... Interesting to read what we all thought about Flight just a few short months ago.

"Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it."

Do we really need every 5-month-old-thread revived?

No, we don't.
