Journey to Alaska Pack announced!

Featured Replies

Cool! If we are indeed able to somehow fly from Hawaii to Alaska, I wonder how they are going to do that with the (obviously) different autogen and textures. Hopefully they found another way of doing things then they did in FSX, where specific textures and things were worldwide. I also wonder how detailed Alaska will be. You can't compare the size with Hawaii, so... curious about that. Will also ALL airports be there? Dressed up and all?And I was hoping for some new DLC this week... not coming spring...

I'm thinking $20-$30. Similar to Hawaii.
Well it depends on how MS set the criteria for pricing, if it's based on areas to fly then clearly Alaska has more landmass and therefore more areas to visit.I really don't think MS will set the price of each DLC at the same level as the first pack.Bryan.
:Hypnotized: You can also read the statement to include all the MS Flight scenery at 1.2 millon Sq miles, not just the Journey to Alaska expansion. Heck maybe it is Hawaii and the MS version of the Victor airways and Jet airways to Alaska plus the Journey Pack and then it might reach the 1.2 Million Sq miles number. :Hypnotized: :Nerd:One thing is for sure, it is a long way from HI to AK when you are inverted.Ray
Useless to guess pricing, but, that never stopped us before. I guess 2400 - 3000 points.

Is it spring yet? Is it spring yet? Is is spring yet? Is it spring yet?

Yay, let's fly from Hawaii to Alaska without ATC, maybe we'll be able to find some priorities in the bush.

No word about patches or updates yet: I have some things on my wishlist other then scenery too.

The Hawaii pack was 1600 points = $20 USD + tax so my guess is $30 - $37.50 USA + taxRay

My thoughts exactly! With the way weather is done in Flight, I am so looking forward to some bush flying. I hope a beaver and a good helicopter are included, just wouldn't be the same if not.

So excited about Alaska! I bet the next aircraft would be a chopper...been seeing some heli pads around Hawaii.

This should make for some interesting comparisons when we have Orbx Southern Alaska in FSX to compare with MS Journey to Alaska. I think I remember that Holger's Package does not extend to the SW to make it to Kodiak but the Anchorage, Whitehorse, and Juneau areas should make for some spectacular scenery for sim flying.Ray

Considering the dynamic weather is half of what makes flying in Alaska so interesting, let's hope they use this as a launching pad for a new Real World Weather feature!I look forward to seeing how they implement this scenery. Will it be like Tongass Fjords with every lighthouse and cabin modeled in a smaller area or more of a UTX Alaska big picture view? I'm betting on a smaller focus area with the Panhandle of Alaska being a likely target due to it's popularity with cruiseliners, floatplanes, etc.

Considering that one of the messages I saw on one of my missions, was that you may need a seaplane or helicopter to get certain aerocaches, I would say you may be spot on.
