Journey to Alaska Pack announced!

I would prefer a Dash 8 because it is slightly bigger
I dont think the DLC areas are going to be large enough to utilize such equipment. Thats starting to fall, well it is a commercial carrier aircraft. Thats not what flight's about at this phase.

Not necessarily - they may consider addressing a different/additional segment since they have the base platform - which would be some form of VA.MS already hit on most 3rd parties except VAs - I wouldn't be surprised (may actually like it) having some sort of in-game feature like working for a virtual company, fly regular flights, etc. We're all making suppositions at this moment and some MS guys may be 'eavesdropping' here, so why not?

Hopefully they will activiate ADFs, autopilot functionality and have working ATIS frequencies for weather reports. You will need it flying 1.2 million square miles of Alaska.

This is good news indeed. I have a feeling the Maule is going to get a workout as well so this has made up my mind to buy it.

I can't wait. :DSome of the Hawaii cargo missions are way too heavy for the Maule, so I expect we'll have a better cargo plane. One of the devs stated on the beta forum that you'll have to pass up some Hawaii cargo missions as they are just too heavy. I was looking at the missions last night and saw one for 900+ pounds of... something... and the Maule is good for maybe 600 pounds if you don't mind being a bit overloaded. I was thinking that we'd get a more capable cargo hauler in the next DLC.Hook

Makes you wonder if those missions were created specially for the Maule or... they already have some heavier planes ready for those heavier loads...!

If the overweight cargo missions were created just for the Maule, then you'd think it was to make pilots exercise a bit of judgement and pass up missions they couldn't reasonably fly. But if you check out a lot of cargo missions, there are a LOT of them heavier than I'd prefer to fly in the Maule. Hook

There's a few teaser screenshots on Facebook too. They look lovely, and dare it say it, a little 'Orbxy'! :Just Kidding:

Considering the dynamic weather is half of what makes flying in Alaska so interesting, let's hope they use this as a launching pad for a new Real World Weather feature!I look forward to seeing how they implement this scenery. Will it be like Tongass Fjords with every lighthouse and cabin modeled in a smaller area or more of a UTX Alaska big picture view? I'm betting on a smaller focus area with the Panhandle of Alaska being a likely target due to it's popularity with cruiseliners, floatplanes, etc.
Say Dave, how are you able to get a signature block that is 500 x 125 pixels? When I try to update mine it rejects anthing taller than 68 pixels. Just curious if you have a special friend at Avsim.Ray

So is MS going to release each State individually as DLC? If they are then even at $20 a pop this is going to turn out to be one expensive game!

I know this isn't the screenshot forum, but I hope these pictures are allowed here because they belong here. :wink:Apart from the city shot, the skies look awesome. MS Flight knows when NOT to select fair weather too, so it seems... I seriously doubt if I will ever fire up FSX for GA again.051917_64020_310009985727656_100257846702872_819780_1789981244_n.jpg051918_423985_310009309061057_100257846702872_819773_1488813188_n.jpg051918_426163_310009785727676_100257846702872_819779_1416602089_n.jpg051918_426275_310009509061037_100257846702872_819775_408164022_n.jpg051918_428095_310009662394355_100257846702872_819778_389634391_n.jpg
