March 6, 201214 yr Hi Community,as i wrote in the title, i am looking for a clue, to disable the anoying destination marker while flying jobs.Does anybody know how i can achieve that?Thx.( I love flying in MS-Flight, and i am an old simmer ;) )
March 6, 201214 yr Commercial Member I also hope there is a way. I want to use navaids, gps, and maps to find my destimation. Help ramp up the difficulty up for some of the more experienced pilots. Currently, I dont think there is one.Welcome to the forum! Kevin Miller 3D Artist and developer
March 7, 201214 yr I agree with this, the pointer makes it way to easy, just point the nose at the square and no need to reference a map. Plus, the pointer blocks the view when you're trying to line up for a landing. I'm thinking of just flying the jobs in free-flight. Problem is I won't get the credit for them then.- Gary Letona
March 7, 201214 yr Having the ability to use dead reckoning via sectionals or navaid navigation without the yellow markers present would be fantastic and a definite step towards the realism we seek. I am very doubtful, considering the broad scope of the audiance MS is trying to target, that we will see such an option any time soon. March 7, 201214 yr I agree. A simple toggle: [X] - Disable destination markers for job board flights.. Long as the briefing tells us where we need to go we'll figure out the rest. March 7, 201214 yr I found out that the yellow marker also points to the right "inwind" runway. As for now we havent have any clue about wind conditions except when using the overhead bar. Hopefully they will give us some sort of ATIS. Long as the briefing tells us where we need to go we'll figure out the rest. Not just destination markers... that stupid tips in center of screen (press B for engine start, press Q for checklists, pres N to skip...) too. Its great for first few minutes to learn the commands, but after that its just ridiculous. Lj. March 7, 201214 yr If the destination mark is removed from the in flight view, I think we need to have access to the map during the mission. I'm pretty sure there is at least one challenge where the runway marker is at the upwind end. Many fields have windsocks, although they're pretty hard to spot most of the time...Mike Mike Dryden
March 7, 201214 yr A toggle is all I need. I don't mind getting clues, in fact, I love it, but not all the freakin' time.
March 7, 201214 yr The map can be accessed at any time with the M key (for what the "map" is worth LOL) JAKE EYREIt's a small step from the sublime to the ridiculous...Napoleon Bonaparte
March 7, 201214 yr The map can be accessed at any time with the M key (for what the "map" is worth LOL)Er... I wonder to whom you were replying...? This topic is about the markers you see while flying and the only mention of the map had to do with the map NOT being accessible in missions and jobs... :wink:BTW Totally OT but what I like about the M key is that it doesn't only gets you to the map during flying, but it also gets you back into the plane. In fact, the M key simply is an undocumented shortcut for Fly now! Quite often I start MS Flight, click on Play and as soon as the map is onscreen I simply press M and I am where I was when I left the game. Awesome.
March 7, 201214 yr hey Jeroen, I was responding to Mickel above: I think we need to have access to the map during the mission.bestjakeIt is available during flight..at least i used it last night!Perhaps I'm a little confused LOL JAKE EYREIt's a small step from the sublime to the ridiculous...Napoleon Bonaparte
March 7, 201214 yr hey Jeroen, I was responding to Mickel above:It is available during flight..at least i used it last night!Ah, ok. Well, I am sure Mickel knows how to access the map, but the problem is the map is only available during free flight and not during missions and so on!
March 7, 201214 yr Is that right? I'm sure I've used it in a mission/challenge and have deffo used it in an aerocache hunt, or am i going totally mad? (very possible) I'm going home to check soon..! JAKE EYREIt's a small step from the sublime to the ridiculous...Napoleon Bonaparte
