March 13, 201214 yr Commercial Member Yeah, that´s very annoying. And think of someone who doesn´t know that for a long time and then he wonders where all his memory went...The OS is supposed to kill apps that are in a background state when it needs memory. That's why sometimes when you go back to an app that's on the multitasking bar it starts up where you left off, and sometimes it starts from the beginning. Emphasis on the word supposed. It doesn't always work like that. That's why it's good toa) periodically clear them out, and... b ) do a hard restart, just like a, computer every few days A lot of people don't know this and then it causes support issues because apps stop working right or crash. For a while, (and maybe still) Apple was rejecting apps that reccomended to the user to restart their device.Multitasking in iOS is nothing like multi tasking as most PC or Mac users understand. Apple calls it multitasking though, lol. Here is a good link that explains it better. Noah Bryant

That video and that article are completely false. If I leave all my apps on then I don't fully close them, if I open a game such as Temple Run, it will be laggy as crap. It DOES NOT work that way as stated in the article. So, the alarm clock (your iPhone) has to be on for the alarm to ring? Isn't this normally the way all alarm clocks work? I mean, if I unplug my regular alarm clock (in my bedroom) from the wall, I wouldn't expect it to ring either.Yeah, that's true for alarm clocks. But we're not talking about alarm clocks, we're talking about high end technology. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB

It should be "energy" instead of "memory". lolBut anyways thank you for that explanation, Best regards, Steffen Fight time: NGX 737-700: 37,0h; -800: 47,2h

March 14, 201214 yr Sheesh, as an owner of an Ipad 2, I have to ask myself, what more can the Ipad 3 offer me than the Ipad 2 that justifies me blowing so much money? Answer, absolutely nothing!....."but I bought one anyway!" :(
March 15, 201214 yr 2. Multitasking bar. This is the most frustrating POC in the OS! Every time you close an app, you have to double tape the home button and fully close the app, or else it will continue to run in the background and waste battery (or in some cases, apps like Facebook that update every 5 minutes) waste data!!! I have a frikken 200MB data limit and I've already gone past it because of this stupid feature.Second that. Utter design flaw IMHO...Well that's all I can think of right now, but trust me, there are a lot of issues. How true. As I expressed earlier, there will never be any perfect device, and iOS was the one I thought would give me the least trouble, which I still think is true. But you are right, there's a ton of things that could need improvement...

March 17, 201214 yr Commercial Member Well - now that I have had the iPad 3 for the afternoon, I am going to have to warn you...The best thing about the iPad3 is the fact that it made iPad2s cheaper. If you haven't gotten an iPad yet, and were thinking about it, I HIGHLY recommend finding an iPad 2 for cheap right now. I doubt that more than 10% of the populace could tell the difference between a -2 and a -3. The retina display DOES look good, there's no doubt about it, however, the thing I was most excited about, the processor, seems to have been completely negated by having 4x the pixels to have to render. I had to buy one for testing/development so I'm not unhappy with the purchase. If I had bought one simply to replace my iPad 2, then I might actually be annoyed. In fact, I have actually noticed a few things performing worse on the -3 than the -2. Noah Bryant

First time owning an Ipad, really enjoy it, and find that it actually will be quite useful and not just a trendy fad.Heck, caused me to pick up your FS Kneeboard off the AppStore. :)Side note, one major (for me) difference between the 2 and 3 was significantly increased battery life. Haven't seen any comparisons yet, but from what I've seen with my 3, quite happy with it. _________________________________ -Dan Everette CFI, CFII, MEI 7900X OC @ 4.8GHz | ASRock Fatal1ty X299 Professional | 2 x EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 (SLI) | 32GB G.Skill DDR4 2800
March 17, 201214 yr Commercial Member Don't get me wrong, it's awesome - I just mean the improvements over the -2 don't justify upgrading if you already had one. Heck, caused me to pick up your FS Kneeboard off the AppStore. :( Noah Bryant
