iPad (3) is out!

Recommended Posts

Anyone getting it?I didn't really see any "wow" new features on it, however. Seems exactly the same, but now with a retina display and a 5MP camera (useless... Who's gonna bring a freaking IPAD to a party to take photos?)So, what are your thoughts?

Really the only thing in it I'd care about is the processor - which is awesome, but otherwise I dont think it's all that exciting. I had to buy one for testing, but if not for that I would be perfectly happy with my iPad 2.

The picture quality does look stunning, With 264ppi. It does look nearly identical to the iPad 2, For now Im going to stick with my iPad 2. I have the iPhone 4S that has a retina display and Siri and an 8mp camera I can also get iPhoto on my iPad 2 and hopefully iPhone 4S. Plus iPhone 4S is small easy to put into my pocket and take to work, With the iPad thats a different story!I am very tempted by the new iPad, "Yes I am an Apple ######". I am surprised by Apple with this one though because there were rumours that the iPad would be called iPad HD but that seems to be a thing of the past. Its now called iPad.

I am going to get one...I haven't got an Ipad yet so now is as good a time as any. The higher resolution is great for moving my photo's over to an Ipad to show clients instead of carrying around my portfolio....Cheers

In 5 months my AT&T 2 year contract is over, so what I'll do is I'll switch to an Android phone similar to the iPhone, then get an iPad. Wait, that's a bad idea.

I never get the Android vs Apple comments. I have an EVO4G and love it (it was the main iPhone 4 competition when released). I also love my friend's iPhone 4GS. I can do things with my phone he can't, and vice versa.A platform I feel is really under-appreciated is the new-ish Windows 7 phones. I love that UI, and I love that it's so compatible with my Windows 7. That OS may be on my next phone. The main reason I've avoided the iPhone: I really, really hate iTunes. It gets in the way, hogs system resources, and is way too limiting for my type of use.

Everyone has a Phone they really love, enjoy and thrive in having weather its an iPhone, Android phone or Windows phone. I have nothing against Android or Windows, and I cant be doing with all that BS that goes on with iPhone vs Android/Windows either! As I said in my first comment I do love Apple. Hence my other comment.

That old argument is timeless and just comes from being passionate humans.....Look at the old argument between Ford Truck owners and GMC Truck owners and Dodge truck owners. That one goes back longer then any of these computer arguments but is it the same argument really. To each their own...Cheers

No idea, I've never been an iPad fan to be exact. Great fuss but I don't see much new that could be of any use to me... If I had one it would be mostly a viewing device, but seriously noone could expect me to really work on it, like write a ton of stuff or the like. Sorry but that's not what I need then, I'd go for the regular laptop in that case.I have a phone 4 and I am content with it, finally got it after long and thorough thinking about what to get. Came down to the conclusion there won't be the perfect device, but I still do think it's the most responsive touch experience of pretty much all devices I had tried back then (although honestly others might have caught up pretty well now).I also hate iTunes, and I partly hate iOS because I miss a few things (even small things) that are just not there and there is no ways for 3rd parties to add them, for example I want these quick access WLAN settings buttons etc. at the top, like Android has them (I believe). Plus I am hesistant to jailbreak it, so no SBSettings for me or whatever it's called. Also I like and hate the fact there doesn't seem to be a central file system. Always gotta push files back and forth between apps.Other than that you probably don't 'need' but rather 'want' these things, and yes I do admit I use it a lot now, just comes in handy every now and then. But rather than a phone 5 I'd rather see iOS 6 with tons (and this time I really mean TONS) of new features. I feel it gets a bit antiquated here and there. Plus it could use a new look, but maybe that's just me. Big%20Grin.gifBut to come back to the OT, :( heck yeah I want to see 9.7 inches of Retina display...

I've made a lot of money in Apple stock over the past year. By far the best thing in my portfolio. My wife is one of those people who just can't understand the Zen of computers. But, we bought our daughter an iPad, and my wife's been playing with it until we bring it to our girl (currently "studying" in Italy) next month. There's an intuitive feel to it that she gets. Apple has caught on that there are many non-geeks out there, and they've designed things for them.

Sheesh, as an owner of an Ipad 2, I have to ask myself, what more can the Ipad 3 offer me than the Ipad 2 that justifies me blowing so much money? Answer, absolutely nothing!
