I don't think "many gamers feel the same way".And I don't think Track is a "massively popular piece of hardware."I would speculate that the "gamer" who is contemplating adding hardware to his FS,has trackIR way down the list, past Yoke; pedals; throttle quadrant; quality headset...etc.If you, or someone can provide numbers to show the "massively popular" extentof trackIR, then it's a different story. As it is, it is no more accurate than the speculation about the next DLC.And, personally, far down my list as well.RB

AI Traffic would be nice but I see some problems:- MS Flight is multiplayer at heart so encouraging people to fly offline with AI is it likely MS wants that?- Flying with AI traffic can be pretty demanding, you need to know whats the active runway, you should know about the traffic pattern around airports to predict ai aircraft behavour, know how to deal with faster traffic from behind, etc, etc.- AI traffic will be fun, but could it be too advanced for new "players"-

I'd bet many more "simmer" users of Flight have TrackIR than rudder pedals, at least I had mine for years before I finally decided to upgrade from the twist rudder on my joystick to real rudder pedals.TrackIR is one of those things that people who don't have it just don't realize how great it enhances the flying immersion, and unfortunately they also don't realize how hard it is to go back to flying without it.That's the only reason that I can think why so many people would be making posts against TrackIR support, they don't have it and just don't understand how much it can enhance the experience, it is a key sim controller just like a joystick or a mouse, not an enhancement or luxury feature if MS wants to include the simmer crowd in the audience, which I think they do, based on the marketing and some of the sim features I see on videos of the Maule and Van's DLC.

I've been simming off and on for many years but I've never been to FS forums. What is Track IR and Toe Brakes? I currently use a Saitek Pro Flight Yoke System.

Agreed TIR is like a joystick controller driver support item (view control), not 3rd Party addon or enhancement feature.I sent MS a nice email asking for TIR support and telling them I'm interested in the DLC but not buying any yet since can't enjoy flying without TIR.For now I just fly around with my awkward views in multiplayer using the free content.
+ 100 % agree

This explains TrackIR better than I could:http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/Toe brakes are on your rudder pedals (if you have them). You push the pedals back and forth for rudder, and push the top of the pedals for brakes. The reason we're complaining about toe brakes is that the current keyboard style using Z and C it's all or nothing. Or more accurately, it starts applying brakes when you push it, building to a maximum, then releases them the same way when you release the key. Watch an aileron, for example, and press the left arrow to bank to the left and see what the effect is like.Actual toe brakes assigned to an axis would give us fine control, which we don't have now. Rosssin,A few billion times worse huh? I'm sure... Another big whooper of provocation like that in this forum and you might find your post deleted, and this one too.Edit: It's gone, along with two more of his.

Toebrakes are the tilt feature of most rudder pedals that let you push/tilt to activate/modulate the aircraft brakes independently on each side to facilitate ground handling. The AVSIM Review of the TrackIR4 has a great explanation of what it is.And really I'm going to stop going on about it now :Loser: I know the discussion is probably getting old for the non-TrackIR users, but for many of us TrackIR simmers, there was simming before TrackIR and then the glorious days since we made the jump and finally tried it out and discovered the new world of TrackIR immersion, it's like a couple of years ago trying to explain the increased detail of HD television to those that had not seen it and couldn't appreciate why it was such a big deal, until they experience it for themselves and understood.I think if MS would just acknowledge that they will be adding support, then many of us could relax and wait for it in peace, but since they have not responded one way or the other to the beta feedback about it or all the emails sent to them about it or all these posts about it, then we keep having to restate how important it is, in the hope that they will read the forums, understand and acknowledge it.Sorry to all the non TrackIR users in the meantime, and take it as a good sign that if we didn't like Flight and see the potential greater enjoyment there, then we wouldn't even bother being vocal to request the support.

I am sure Tom will be more then happy to show you the door if you are not happy here. Our TOS is linked from EVERY SINGLE FORUM PAGE in the lower right, maybe you'd like to have a read?As you pay NOTHING to participate here, we reserve the right to moderate. Again, if you are not happy with that, no one is keeping you here. And just in case you cant find the link:http://forum.avsim.net/index.php?app=forums&module=extras&section=boardrulesI will also point out the bold print from it: (just in case you don't wanna read the entire thing:)"AVSIM is not a democracy, and there is no such thing as "Freedom of Speech" in our forums. If you believe that you are entitled to that freedom here and be able to do and say as you please, then reconsider... Do NOT register."

Oh, no no. I am COMPLETELY happy here. I express very clearly what i'm unhappy with in my above post (erasing posts that express views and opinions free from personal attacks). And, no, I do not refer to "democracy". I refer to LEGAL implications that such blattant, bully-moderator behaviour may trigger. There are appropriate provisions for that in international law, do not worry about it being a vague, volitile term such as democracy.Additionally, I enjoy avsim for what? an almost decade? So I don't need an agressive individual to command me "out". Is it clear? Do you see my point of view?
