I can't wait for the following DLC packages and what I would pay:

  • Microsoft Flight: Navigation (activates all navigation equipment in the game, including auto-pilots and has a flight planner) $39.00
  • Microsoft Flight: Traffic (AI flight traffic individual modules for purchase for GA, Business Jets, Helicopters, Real World Airlines, and Military) $89.00 for the bundle
  • Microsoft Flight: Advanced Weather (includes real world weather, weather reports, customization and upgraded weather graphics, bacially Active Sky) $54.00
  • Microsoft Flight: ATC (includes ATC covering VFR and IFR) $120 (if they do an absolutely great job with it)
  • Microsoft Flight: Advanced Textures (includes upgraded buildings and more variety of buildings and improved building and city lights at night). $49 per major region (i.e. USA)
  • Microsoft Flight: Roads (includes AI road/railway traffic, real world road and railway placement and improved night lighting for roads/railways). $39 per major region (i.e. USA)
  • Microsoft Flight: Universe (includes all of the above packages) $349.00 (a $50 dollar discount on buying it individually)

I of couser would also want to see continued DLC for GA, business and commercial jets and the major geographic regions around the globe and support for VATSIM.

If MSF is a cut down FSX 11, then why is it so hard to have Track IR I don't use it, but there is a lot you can't do in MSF that FSX can, I mean why didn't they just use FSX 11 and add on the scenery and Aircraft as they developed it, or indeed developed using 3PD's but with MS branding? (Like how supermarkets use re-labelled goods)

There would actually have to be an FSXI for your statement to be at all accurate. Flight is being build from the ground up, and is much better optimized than FSX. Building from the ground up takes a lot more effort.

Even the NaturalPoint Devs still think that TrackIR will get implemented. http://forum.natural...50794#Post50794 So I wouldn't give up on it yet.Regarding Kinect - I have one for my xbox 360. Here are the reasons I don't see it being a big hit with Flight:1. It's freaking expensive. $250. It wouldn't make sense to me for MS to develop and market a game toward casual users with an emphasis on using nothing but a mouse, but then think those same casual users are going to drop $250 on something when only a fraction of "hard core" simmers spend $150 on the existing equivalent.2. It's big. Track IR easily fits on top of a monitor or laptop screen. Kinect (at least what I have) won't do either one. You'd need dedicated desk/table space for it. Wouldn't really work for a casual user playing on a laptop.Regarding road traffic - I find it strange that so many people are asking for that. When i fly in real life, I hardly notice it (if at all). AI aircraft and ATC make more sense, since they are things that play a prominent roll in the experience of real life flying.

...........I do not think you will see Ai and road traffic until they are sure that the target markets PC's can handle it otherwise they will just get slammed about the FPS drop. Flight is what it is because it is designed to run well on any fairly recent hardware......
I agree, I think that is the reason for the basic looking clouds for now also. For the near term they are dedicated to performance, ease of use and good looking ground scenery. Do think that AI, ATC, ground traffic will eventually be provided but they want to keep things really simple to start.

Hmm, as hardware continues to progress, they can continue to progress Flight to keep up with it - interesting...

What I typed first looks harsh, but I was referring to someone finding FSXI files or references in a file :)
Do you really think Microsoft will drop everything to make ONE 3PD's product work in flight before they open up the marketplace to all 3PDs?When you see an announcement from Microsoft that devs who are willing to play by their rules will be allowed to sell products that pass Microsoft's Flight Standards test through the marketplace, then you can look for Track IR to support Flight. Not a minute before.
By that argument, it Logitech joysticks shouldn't be supported in Flight.

"flight" is not built from the ground up to my opinion--it obviously uses the same engine, has the same feel and same low-res textures. And it still doesn't use physics engine (in our date and age physics engine is included in many many games is is something very easy to do considering how fast computers are today.Another proof that "flight" is not built from scratch is the fact that someone has managed to use former sim files and implement them in the .PAK file and they worked.

I wasn't trying to be overly critical of what you wrote (I hope you didn't take it that way). It's just that there's a lot of confusion still (mostly for newer simmers) about FSX and Flight. I was just trying to clarify what you posted a bit.

HelloSo you do not mind there being no other aircraft at the airports, makes for a very strange atmosphere to be alone in the world.
AI Air Traffic yes, AI Road traffic no. Following Grandma while she drives to get her groceries is a waste of system load and resources.

See a lot of that stuff you listed is nice. I would love the ATC before anything else and great for people who have the system to run it, but those prices will scare a lot of people off hands down and thats where 3PD will suffer is I have never seen a DLC on live for more than 20 bucks or 1600 points. Flight has brought a lot of new people to the FS world and a lot of people that don't have retirement funds or deep pockets to drop 120 bucks on a DLC package. I bought one of my friends the Maule cause he couldn't afford it right away.

I like this post. Yes sir, I agree. Your numbers line up with my gut value instincts. I already have about $4,000 invested in msfs related software, mostly for FSX. These prices for Flight seem like good value, even a bargain, so count me in.Kind regards,
Just flew some more in this Flight thing and am getting a pretty complete impression: this thing is extremely BARE and has NOTHING better than Flight Simulator X and has a few billion tons worse.I mean, why should i buy addon scenary to "remake the world" when i have this world in FSX, plus countles wonderful addons to choose from, full navi database. I even feel the textures are better in FSX... Wow!
You should not, you should fly using FSX and enjoy it.

Rosssin,A few billion times worse huh? I'm sure... Another big whooper of provocation like that in this forum and you might find your post deleted, and this one too.Edit: It's gone, along with two more of his.
