March 19, 201214 yr Ok, my specs:CPU: AMD Athlon 220 x2 @ 2.8 GhzRAM: 4GB DDR3GPU: Nvidia GT430 1GB DDR3 Core clock-700MHz Shader clock-1400MHz Memory clock-600MHzAnyway, I run Flight on everything high, sharpness max, weather medium, texture high or medium depending on where I am. However, anytime I'm near medium or large amounts of trees or buildings, I get stuttering,"jerking" and lower FPS. How's everyone's performance on these settings on a non-gaming machine? JP1018
March 19, 201214 yr You need to lower your settings... start with shadows to low...Even on a faster machine, I can get the settings to a point where Flight begins to showsigns of distress. Bert
March 20, 201214 yr I've got a 2 year old Lenovo POS laptop that can run it alright most of the time with everything on low (except textures, on medium), but I get some insane performance hits looking towards the interior of the island on the eastern parts of Oahu. I can't even operate at Honolulu International, with some operations possible at Kaneohe as long as I keep the camera pointed either straight down or out towards the water. I emailed the support site and they said they'd get back to me about potential fixes for that.4GB RAM, 2.3GHz Pentium Dual Core, but the graphics thing (source of all my woes) is an Intel Mobile Chipset that leaches off of the RAM.In the meantime, I can get by operating out of PHJR and Dilingham on Oahu. :)

For me that's the best combination.Give it a try and let me know if it works for you. March 20, 201214 yr Flight is a lot more GPU than CPU intensive unlike FSX....so yeahI'm reinstalling FSX this very moment to see how it performs on this machine. My old computer had half the RAM and ran it alright, maybe I can get FSX to run well with this. Having learned so much from Flight, I might be able to enjoy FSX more than last time I tried it!

March 21, 201214 yr Moderator Give it a try... it might surprise you... what do you have to lose?Rich,Well, I took your advice so last night I went to the MS Games page, registered, and proceeded to download.I got as far as 'analyzing your system..." and got a message saying "Flight has detected an incompatibility with your hardware and will terminate the download."Upon further inquiry it was because of the Single core.Like you said... I had nothing to lose.Oh well...Alan
