I haven't bought the DLC, or even played Flight in the last two weeks... once they fix Track IR (native support) and differential brakes I'll consider moving forward.

That's the way!As much as I preach we should all support Flight - I feel the same, while I did purchase the Hawaii DLC and the Maule, I do not plan on purchasing further unless they either go ahead and add native support for Track IR, or state publicly that it WILL be forthcoming - not maybe, but will...But I do show my support in emailing the Flight team and making them aware of these same feelings I have on the subject.

Hey Finro!Welcome to the forums,I see that is your first post - and welcome to the wonderful world of flight simming!!Don't hesitate to participate here more and ask questions on anything you might need help with or not understand. There are a lot of great guys in here, and some gals, that are very knowledgeable and helpful!

Heh. Given the game is 3 weeks old, and they've already announced Alaska in addition to the existing DLC's I think it's moving along just fine. Most other games just end after about a dozen or so hours of play through, and quite often have zero replayability. I've already put more hours into Flight than most other games I've spent similar amounts on, and haven't run out of things to do. Really, you can no more run out of things to do in Flight than you can in FSX. It's not like just because they've actually built in a whole bunch of specific tasks that you can't do anything outside of those tasks now! :)Personally, now I've done the lions share of tasks, I'm setting some for myself. In my 40 hours, I've gone from zipping around 'arcade style' in an outside view with all the aids on, to all aids off, and then to trying to just using cockpit instruments, trying to perfect ILS landings and finally getting to grips with VOR navigation etc. But then I was never a hard core flight simmer, so a lot of this stuff is still a novelty to me! :)Once I'd nailed the various landing challenges, I made my own challenges - yaknow... 'ok, now lets try doing that in driving rain with a 30 knot crosswind'One thing I think would be kind of cool to add a constantly changing additional layer of new tasks would be 'user added aerocaches'. They could be done in a similar way to Google Earths kmz 'bookmarks' (I guess with an additional altitude parameter), tagged or categorised and made available with filtering, so you can pick and choose ones you'd be interested in rather than being overwhelmed with thousands of 'em.

I guess more content never hurts anyone, therefore i would love to see new challenges / missions soon. Also, the fixes / updates are always more than welcome.Regarding jobs on the other hand, i am quite satisfied with those. I mean, how different the flying jobs can be? What i do all the time is set different weather theme every few jobs i do, so thatit "feels" different.Just yesterday, i flew with my friend in multiplayer, and we tried "isolated storms" for the very first time. We set a time to dawn and took off from Lanai to Princeville (we always take same destinations from same airports so that we can fly together during jobs). It looked like nothing much in the beginning, with some mild crosswind and clouds that didn't look close enough to cause any kind of problems. So we're talking over Skype, chilling out and all of a sudden - all chaos breaks loose! :) Sudden wind sheers and a ridiculous turbulence. Basically turned into a struggle for survival! So naturally, passengers started screaming, throwing up in the back of my recently washed Maule and they probably said a prayer or two :) Since the flight was around 165nm long, you understand that it felt like eternity while flying through that nasty storm. On the approach, things settled down, wind became steady and we were able to land safely. Passengers on the other hand, even though they found courtesy to thank me for the ride, will probably think twice before entering an airplane again and wanting to fly on that kind of weather in the first place :)All in all, i would LOVE new content weekly but i'm also enjoying what i have pretty much. Just spice it up, think outside the box, change aircraft weight, experiment with flight conditions and time of day. Basically, feels like creating missions yourself. Not to mention how good of a practice it is.Cheers

I couldn't care less about Track IR, toe brakes, AI, ATC, or PMDG quality long haul jets... but God bless all of you that do... hopefully they will all come to pass in time. I just spent a few hours putt-putting low and slow around the coast of Maui and Lanai, and for me, it couldn't have been more fun! As they say, simple things amuse simple minds, and I guess that suits me to a tee! ; )

Hi FolksRush -The following are just suggestions, or for info, and I'm not in any way disagreeing or criticising your comments.

I've completed all the missions, challenges, and aerocaches, purchased all the DLC, and have done jobs and multiplayer.
Congrats on completing all the missions.Assuming your AVSIM Display Name is also your GamerTagthen so far, you've only tried the challenges.but not yet completed them. :biggrin:YMMVbut I found taking a break from attempting the challengesby flying lots of jobs, particularly Clandestine & even more so the Charter Passenger, into the various little bushstrips, substantially improved my landing skills.
Now, I'm left with what I had in previous simulators in that I pretty much have to "make up" my next adventure.
Maybe consider trying the following -- Landing at every airport- Aerocaches of the Day- Performing more Jobs,- Flying along the bottom of the valleys.- Setting weather to Fog, and flying the Jobs.<snip>
What are your thoughts concerning the speed of development? Maybe most of you haven't "finished" the content yet and haven't reached the point of "wanting more". . .
Yes, I'd like more. However, releasing Alaska now/soon,would distract users from fully exploring, and appreciating/experiencing both the core & Hawaii DLC.It'd also decimate the currently incubating online MP community. So in my opinion only, its too early yet.
I think some kind of career shoud be great.Start with few bucks and one old plane, make jobs for money, pay for fuel and repairs.
That's one aspect I'd been hoping for.Maybe it'll come with future DLC.Till then you could use the Jobsto hop from airport to airport, selecting a new job from your destination's Jobs Board. But it'll only earn you Xperience Points, rewards, and achievements, (ATM).A slight tangent on a career mode -The following is only a fantasy wish on my part -How would you feel ifany future DLC for more complex aircraftwere only offered and unlockable,if, and only if, you'd proven to have mastered the more basic aircraft.e.g. You'd already earned Gold on their Landing Challenges.HTHATBPaul

Hmm - not sure what you see on your end. To clarify this non-essential point: I've completed all the landing challenges with silver or better and have looked at the "gold rush" or "hoop dance" challenges and played them to one degree or another, but I don't like them at all and have zero interest in completing or otherwise revisiting them (actually, I think I only have bronze in the hover at the observatory landing challenge). All the missions have checkmarks next to them on my screen. Regardless, the meat and potatoes of my OP is unchanged.I have very little interst in doing things in Flight that aren't at least plausible in real life. Collecting coins or flying through hoops are of no interest to me. Aerocaches are of very little interest to me. Sightseeing the entire island chain is not even that interesting to me except as anecdotal to whatever I'm doing - I don't play to look at a simulation of an island - I play for a simulation of flight (taxi, takeoff, enroute, land, park, shutdown).Yeah, it's probably premature for MSFT to release additional content like toe-brakes, more planes, jobs that use all planes, challenges that use all planes, or missions that use all planes for the $45 spent. . .

I quite like the idea, but I don't think MS or most other people would go for it. 'Congratulations. You have earned the right to buy more DLC's! Get your wallet out!' :PThe Mustang would have been a great candidate for having to earn! Because most of the people that ever drop into my public sessions just seem to want to buzz around me like flies in their P51s. My guess is that most of them have barely tried the other planes and wouldn't have the staying power to earn the right to fly the P51 so they can be all 'look at meeeee! I'm faster n u!'.Alternatively, maybe I could earn a giant fly swat?

Basys,I also dream about a career mode and talked to my friend about it since day 1.Here are some ideas that came to mind:1. When you decide to get a job at the airport, you first fly with an instructor / experienced pilot (virtual character in game ofc) and do a bunch of tasks he lays ahead of you (basic stuff + unplanned circumstances, sudden changes of weather, aircraft systems failure, etc). After finishing the "test", instructor determines which level of experience you possess and therefore allows you to get jobs that fit your skill.2. Satisfaction percentage should play a significant role. If you have less than 80% for example, that particular airport will trust you only with light cargo flights and such. In order to get charter passengers jobs at that airport again, you would have to improve your satisfaction percentage by flying charter flights for other airports / airline companies (which would make a great addition, real or fictional).3. You would earn virtual currency which would let you purchase various stuff. If nothing else, you could pay to have your plane painted in a pattern of your choice (and you would be able to create paint schemes yourself, giving your aircraft a unique look which would be uploaded so that other people would see it when playing multiplayer).4. Another great addition (IMO) would be some high profile flights. To clarify that: only pilots with flawless records and highest level of skill would be granted access to those jobs. Say you need to fly a political figure or a celebrity to some specific spots on the island. Those missions could be further spiced up with special requests by your VIP passengers given without a warning or a plan and during a flight.5. XP should be made some use of. Perhaps it allows you to access jobs that need to be done under severe weather conditions (it would basically take away user defined weather during jobs and it would be allowed only during free flight) or maybe prevent pilots with low XP level to be hired at major airports....stuff like that so that we have a goal to earn XP.So those are few things that came to mind and i would be delighted to see at least some of those implemented in the upcoming updates.Any thoughts?Cheers

e.g. You'd already earned Gold on their Landing Challenges.
Sure. Great for me, already gold on all of them :PAnyone remember career modes in NFS Porche chalenge? Anything like that would be nice.

Hi Rush

Hmm - not sure what you see on your end.
Achievements are publicly viewable -http://live.xbox.com...pareTo=Rush1169A more comprehensive series of stats are available to your LIVE - Friends.https://www.microsoftflight.com/en-us/friends/
To clarify this non-essential point:<snip>Regardless, the meat and potatoes of my OP is unchanged.
Understood & appreciated. :biggrin:It was just you'd sounded bored, and it was my clumsy way of recommendingaquiring the set of Achievements for Landing Challenges.
I have very little interst in doing things in Flight that aren't at least plausible in real life. <snip>I don't play to look at a simulation of an island - I play for a simulation of flight (taxi, takeoff, enroute, land, park, shutdown).
Again appreciated.Thought the various Jobs Board tasks might fulfill that requirement.
