March 22, 201214 yr Can't find reference to this in the manuals. If you leave the seatbelt sign in "auto", how does that work? If it is intended that the crew don't operate that switch, how does the system know when to illuminate the sign?Iain Smith
March 22, 201214 yr i think it automatically swithces it on/off at 10,000ft. Jeff Blyth MD11 J41 747 NGX . . awaiting 777 !!!
March 22, 201214 yr They are linked to flap position, if switch is in AUTO, they will come on when flaps are moved from UP. Regards Andrea Daviero
March 22, 201214 yr i think it automatically swithces it on/off at 10,000ft.That. Above 10,000 the switch should go to auto. Obviously turning the signs on above 10,000' is a sign that turbulence is possible. Anywhere below 10,000 the switch should be "on" at all times. They are linked to flap position, if switch is in AUTO, they will come on when flaps are moved from UP.This is what I thought, but the signs very audibly "ding" when passing 10,000'. Is that assumption in the above post incorrect? Or are there several variables? ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
March 22, 201214 yr AUTO = belts on with flaps or gear extended. Nothing to do with altitude. When you use the ON switch is up to your operation.EDIT: just checked another manual, and there is some variability. The options I see is AUTO = ON with flaps or gear and/or flaps. I don't see any altitude option, but it could be possible. Matt Cee

March 22, 201214 yr If they ding at 10,000' I think that is the actual seatbelt sign extinguishing. Or is that a company option that PMDG decided to model? Kenny Lee"Keep climbing"

I do know flap settings were the dependent on the classics, but the NG is different.Of course, couldn't it be company option? (It is, my friend confirms) ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
March 22, 201214 yr Same here. I hear the ding at 10,000. I usually leave Chime on then Auto for the signs. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
March 22, 201214 yr That's for the NG and is the basic option, however other options can apply as company options.. When the NO SMOKING and FASTEN SEAT BELT switches are in the AUTO position and the trailing edge flaps limit switch is in the NOT UP position, these indications occur:The FASTEN SEAT BELT signs come on The RETURN TO SEAT signs come on There is a low chime. When the NO SMOKING and FASTEN SEAT BELT switches are in the AUTO position and the landing gear lever switch is in the GEAR DOWN position, these indications occur: FASTEN SEAT BELT signs NO SMOKING signs RETURN TO SEAT signs Low chime. March 22, 201214 yr hey Andrea, it's very nice to have a real NG pilot here in the forum, keep up the great work, and also, as a real NG pilot, can you say that thr NGX Is making you a batter pilot? thanks mate. Daniel choen
March 22, 201214 yr I looked up my docs and there is no reference of any option regarding fasten seat belt annunciation. Unless this option has been added in last three or four years, there is no other functionality than described. --Peter Fabian

That is when "my" NGs were bought though, so what can I do. Still, I can see this modification being beneficial and thus introduced since. --Peter Fabian
