March 24, 201214 yr Here is a simple poll I would like to start, just to see how many are really supporting P3D.I just bought the 50$ license. Seriously, 38€ is something I give out for a good evening dinner in an restaurant... I might just as well support them. Gonna install beside FSX and just observe. And maybe here and there play with it... definitely install FSDT airports and GSX in it though!

March 24, 201214 yr Went for the $49 option today. Partly because I want to test P3D out and see where it is going with updates and partly to support the P3D teams work to make it better and a true successor to FSX.
March 27, 201214 yr Not sure if the aim is to be truly scientific here or, just broadly observational however, there is a going to be a timing mis-match to the results.- There is no US$499 option - which was the original purchase price. So currently this excludes those who went expensive and all-in from voting. There is at least one in this forum who has publicly stated they choose this option.- The US$9.99 pre-existed the Academic licence of US$49. Clearly a number of the former might have bought the latter if it was available when they purchased. Of course they could cancel re-purchasing at the lower overall cost (for 1.3) - do they vote twice? Again at least one member has stated he has done this.Anyway the results are fun though am surprised more have not voted (or bought it!)
March 27, 201214 yr I bought it the day after I read about the $49 version. It looks like they're on the right track. Several of the little annoyances with FSX have been fixed and there's the potential of future development. I think the sim is in good hands to become so much more than FSX. That's pretty exciting, especially considering how glum the future of development looked. My Freeware Sceneries
March 27, 201214 yr Bought it at $49 today.. I'm all in for supporting it and them.. I like what I see already a lot... ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-E GAMING / i9-9900k @ 4.7 all cores w/ NOCTUA NH-D15S / 2080ti / 32GB G.Skill 3200 RIPJAWS / 1TB Evo SSD / 500GB Evo SSD / 2x 3TB HDD / CORSAIR CRYSTAL 570X / IPSG 850W 80+ PLATINUM / Dual 4k Monitors
March 27, 201214 yr I voted Undecided but that could change quickly into 'i plan to' if P3D has full working Dx10 (not preview) support, has it? Gerrit
March 28, 201214 yr Bought yesterday. Copied all my hand done/commercial and freeware Add-in scenery, AND ALL fsx and bought aircraft and 56GB of FSG meshes and SCENERY. It's gonna take a while to test it all out... I DO know the Commercial products Realair's SF260 and scenery, Socal, work just fine. I bet my $49 on LM!! March 28, 201214 yr I am planning on it but I haven't booted up my home computer for a week (at work now).... I am a little surprised they went to a lower pricing at all though, excited but surprised. Better than anything Microsoft will put out anytime soon, that is for sure. Tyson Rose
March 31, 201214 yr After sitting on the fence mainly due to cost until the Academic licence was announced I made the leap yesterday. My aim is to have a specific P3D HDD with supported addons either legaly migrated or P3D specific purchases as they get released (ORBX, REX, SHADE etc).I will probably still keep FSX installed on another HDD for addons that don't work or get migrated to P3D & also development work which I am just starting to dabble in. I feel the future of Flight Sim is brighter than ever now, thanks to LM. :)
April 1, 201214 yr Voted for undecided. I won't be bothered with P3D until I know more about version 2.0 and what it brings. If it brings improvements on the graphical side of the game (like the VC-shadows you now have in MS Flight) I may have another look. I notice that I am enjoying flying a lot more in MS Flight due to the enhanced graphics and atmosphere. I don't care if that makes me a simple gamer instead of a serious simmer, haha! :( I won't be thinking about buying P3D before it can give me the same WOW-moments that MS Flight gives me time and time again. I will certainly keep an eye on where P3D is going, but as it is now (still needing tweaks all over the place...), no, thanks.
April 1, 201214 yr I thinking of buying this software but what does the software do? Makenthe software FSX in 3D AMD do you have need glasses to see like a 3D television.
April 1, 201214 yr I thinking of buying this software but what does the software do?Makenthe software FSX in 3D AMD do you have need glasses to see like a 3D television. http://www.prepar3d.com/No it does not have anything to do with 3D glasses and TVs. I think the 3d in the name is just to represent the fact that it models a 3d world.Simply put, if you have FSX you will find it is very similar. Microsoft sold the source code of ESP, which was the commercial version of FSX, to Lockheed-Martin and LM are further developing it under the name Prepar3d. It is not sold or marketed as a video game, it is a commercial use product designed for flight training and educational purposes. This includes home-use, use in commercial flight simulators and so on.At this early stage there is little difference between it and FSX, except for a different user interface, some higher resolution textures, an updated shader model and some different default aircraft. It's also slightly more stable (for me) than FSX was, but doesn't seem to run much faster. In the future it will be further developed with support for DirectX 11, and possibly even 64 bit, but it's still early days yet.
