March 27, 201214 yr Bryan,Is it possible in a future update to include a toggle option to have the FO turn off the landing lights at FL180 instead of 10,000?A lot of real world airlines keep them on until FL180 due to VFR aircraft operating above ATC control. As far as I know, even the FAA recommends they be kept on until this altitude. If it's not doable, completely fine but just thought I'd ask. AJ Pongress
March 29, 201214 yr I think its normaly used in USA because of the Transition level... But i know in germany you have 10.000 Christian Pfeffer

March 29, 201214 yr Commercial Member Okay, I just added this feature to SP1.You can now control it via an INI file.Cheers, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
March 29, 201214 yr Nitpick, but if you're going to do that you should still retract the retractable lights at 10,000. From what I understand Boeing recommend not to have them extended when going faster than 250kts due to stress on the hinges, which of course you do above 10,000. Out of curiosity, what airlines follow this procedure ?I haven't flown them in a few years, but a friend who flew Southwest recently said he thought they seemed to turn them on early in the descent and asked the crew. They told him they turn them on at FL180. Steve Caffey
March 29, 201214 yr Commercial Member Way it works is retractables off/on at 10K, and the fixed off/on at 18,000.You can control this via the INI file in app data. B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
March 29, 201214 yr United Airlines follows this practice of landing lights on below 18,000 feet, I believe. Wayne KlocknerUnited Virtual
March 29, 201214 yr Commercial Member Indeed seems to somewhat common practice among the 'mericans.I think South West does it this way, too.Surprised it's not Boeing SOP then. But we added the option anyway. B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
