Do you guys fly the NGX with IVAO?

Featured Replies

Please comment and tell me your experiences about flying with IVAO.

If you fly NGX with IVAO do you have problems or crashes?

Because many of flight simmers report problems about fsx which unexpectedly crashes and quits if they fly with IVAO (possibly with NGX).

I don't know but perhaps fsx doesn't like running with NGX and IVAO...

So do you ever experience fsx crash under IVAO?

And how do your frame rates behave under IVAO? Do they fall down (from ~30 to e.g.: 24-25 fps)

Thank you every comment/suggestion/recommendation/remark or whatever:) in advance too,

Marwan

99% of my flights are with IVAO and I have no problem with either crashes or reduced fps. Have you asked the question in the IVAO forums?

Thank you for your reply, basically no, I haven't, but I don't think the solution is there which is waiting for me:)

Could you possibly write down your pc's specs? Thank you very much!

I also use the NGX with IVAO and it is just an awesome experience. I use the IVAO external client, so if it crashes, FSX won't crash also.

If you haven't already search this forum for UIAutomationCore and it would also be worthwhile to know what the error message you get is and also search the forums for that.

Hope you get it sorted - things like that take all the fun out it,.

EDIT - and that is a very good point Jonathan makes.

By the way. My pc's specs: Intel core i5 2500k 3.7 Gbz sandy bridge, 8GB RAM, Nvidia GTX560 Ti

What do you think?

Okay, to be honestly, I hadn't an IVAO-client crash since several month. At the beginning I had some, but using the external version, stopped crashing it.

Oh I see, and could you say me what is 'external version'? I know just one, and It's the ivap box. Isn't that you use?

I do 100% of my flying online on IVAO in the NGX and like the other guys already said it's an awesome experience and I can't imagine how you could come much closer to reality in front of your PC! And now together with FS2Crew it got even better

I have IvAp running in a networked configuration with the IvAp UI running on a second laptop computer together with some other addons like AS 2012, Aivlasoft EFB, HiFi XPax and after moving as many addons as possible over to the laptop leaving my main PC with only FSX the stability is better than ever before so I highly recommend this kind of setup if you have a second computer you can spare.

Not had any problems since the update in one of the service packs... until one flight last week. Might have just been a fluke though.

Also consider VATSIM.

I was dedicated IVAO flyer until some weird crashes and artifacts started appearing. Recently I made a complete overhaul of my system and out of curiosity took time and installed (and note - fine tuned) Vatsim's FSInn and FSCopilot. The experience is same (if not better) and some areas are way better covered than IVAO. Now I fly 100% of my time on VATSIM. Before every flight I look at VAT-Spy showing the world coverage then I file a flight plan between two cities where the controllers are logged in. So, have a look around and see which areas you would personally like to fly more often then choose which group you will join. Good luck

Yes, I use also the ivap box, however I start it with a desktop symbol and not via the FSX menu bar. This "external version" should be in your program list, in the IVAO folder with the name IvAp external or something similar (I am not at home, so I don't know the exact name, sorry!). It is nearly the same as the normal version. You start your FSX flight, pull up your desktop, and double-click the icon, and IvAp starts like it does always. However, so it runs outside of FSX and if it crashes, FSX won't.

Thank you so much!:) I will try it so!

It is a fantastic thing (is it possible to combine my computer's performance with another so run e.g. ivap and other addons on another pc..[?]) I've never heard about that....

But how can you do that? How can you connect another computer to the main one in order to run the ivap externally?

FWIW if you click some buttons and check some boxes during installation, IvAp will set itself so that it behaves like this even when started from within FS.

Downside is, it is not considered part of FS window structure anymore...
