April 6, 201214 yr if you have the updated fde and cant get in and out of small airports then you aren't flying it correctly. Trying to be clever because you never read the thread, and made yourself look silly ain't going to fool anyone. He HAS the C208B, so regardless of your silly provocative comments on how to fly it, your suggestion was never going to be valid because (I say again) he already has it. Get over it. Now, Thralni, you're right, sorry, I forgot that you want some decent NAV kit in the plane, the Eaglet is pretty much GPS/VFR based, so the search goes on! April 6, 201214 yr although I just say that Aerosoft has a nice oldtimer sale going on, so I might finally pick up their Beaver. The BeaverX is still one of my favorites after all these years, I think the panel textures are the main thing getting long in the tooth, Aerosoft is supposed to work on a new Beaver sometime soon after the new Twotter revisit, both will be on my buy list. So just be aware that the Beaver internal textures are aging a bit and it is likely to have a new version in the next year or two. --John near KPAE
April 6, 201214 yr Mmm, she's at 19.xx Euros now. But I'd really have to admit, that I wouldn't buy her again. Not with the knowledge about an upcoming new one and not with the texture and gauge works, showing their age. Personal preference item for sure, but I'd stick to some nice F1 30 day trial releases from within the last year or so. But it's hard to please Benjamin. ^_^
April 6, 201214 yr Author But it's hard to please Benjamin. ^_^ It is :P I'm glad the F1 30-day trials were mentioned! One of my reservations with the C337 was the price tag. Knowing that I can return it if I don't like it and also seing that the price over at F1 is 7 Euros lower than at Simmarket makes the price much less of a hurdle to get over. So, I think I will try the C337 and see how that works out. The Sibwings Bird Dog probably isn't really for me in hindsight - not yet anyway. If anybody has any more ideas, those are still welcome of course! April 6, 201214 yr The Realair Scout. Looks current to me and offers some instrument setups via the config tool. Nice price tag too. Realair quality, can't go wrong. http://www.realairsimulations.com/content1.php?page=scout07_config
April 6, 201214 yr Author Wow! Now that looks good! Nice design, nice modeling, nice texturing, good VC, no GPS, but old-school navigation gauges. And 19 Euros... Seems like a good price. Thanks CoolP! Gonna read up on that one. I also think I will not go for the Beaver. As others said, with a new one in the works and the current one sort of starting to show its age, it doesn't seem like the best plane to get at this point. So, I wanted to inquire about the Bronco. I have heard really good things about this plane, and the realistic engine management certainly appeals to me. Also, it seems like one cna get excellent views from that cockpit. It sure seems like a very good-looking model, too. It's not really a GA plane of course, but it nevertheless seems appropriate for flying in and out of small airfields. Finally, it seems to have the right set of gauges, and the one little GPS unit in that VC can be turned off (saw a screenshot with the GPS turned off, anyway...) Anybody use it to that end? April 6, 201214 yr Me is a Bronco fan, so what can I say? Big thumbs up for Aerosoft, offering such a unique thing. You name it, very good views there plus superb speeds due to the turbine stuff. Impressive visuals. You don't explore scenery with that one though, you suck it up (due to the speeds of 200+ KIAS). Small fields will need a proper management of the reverse and brakes. So 'too small ones' will stay too small. As for a new Beaver. That would be it. I just think that the current one had its time. So I'm on the list when Aerosoft has done the new incarnation in the quality like seen on the Bronco.
April 6, 201214 yr Landing the ov10 bronco at 1wa6 is fun. Vfr flying is like the 337, nice views all around. Vc is 2nd to none. R9-9950X3D 32G | RTX5090 | 3T m.2 | Win11 | vkb-gf ultimate & pedals | virpil cm3 throttle | tm boeing yoke | pimax super uw | DCS
April 7, 201214 yr Aerosoft is supposed to work on a new Beaver sometime soon after the new Twotter revisit, both will be on my buy list. Mine too! Pretty much instant buys in fact. Scott

Which is completely wrong. Why don't you get over it?
April 7, 201214 yr Author *sigh* I can get that plane in and out of small strips, of course, that's not very hard. I should have chosen my words more carefully, I guess. What I mean is that it's not really the type of plane that I want to be flying in and out of small strips. It's not my piloting skills, but the size and role of the plane. I want something smaller, because I find that a more natural fit. Doesn't mean I can't do it, only means I don't want to do it. Now, instead of telling Stick to get over it (not sure what he should get over, though), I suggest you take your own advice and get over the fact that your recommendation is irrelevant and was invalid right from the start, instead of starting to insult those that point out the obvious... In other news, I have pretty much decided to go for the RealAir Scout. Seems like the perfect plane. Nice, conventional design, good graphics, love the configuration panel, okay speeds, great for sight seeing, has the instruments I want. I might also get the Bronco, but it seems unlikely at this point. Thanks to all that contributed! April 7, 201214 yr The RA Scout package is fantastic: It's an earlier RA product, so it has than 'slightly too new' glossy look to the textures, but it's otherwise amazing: the avionics fit your requirements, and to fly..... well, it's a RealAir plane, what more needs to be said! If you check out the old Orbx Coffs Harbour AVSIM review from a few years ago, it was done in the RAScout, so there may be some screen pics. April 7, 201214 yr Author Thanks for the suggestion, Stick! I bought the RA Scout, and couldn't be happier. Exactly the thing I was looking for! It's small, flies very nicely, and in combination with Accu-Feel, TrackIR and EZCA, it is a wonderful flying experience. So, to all, thanks for contributing. The p;lanes I didn't buy will get on the list of planes to get in the future. For now I am very happy. Thanks!
