April 7, 201214 yr Hey, i know many of you heard how it sounds in real plane when at high altitude, you can not hear the engines, i mean i can actually hear the roar sound from the takeoff at FL360, so how can i get rid of it? it really is annoying. thanks! Daniel choen
April 7, 201214 yr Are you sure it's the engines and not wind noise? You may try pressing the Q button twice to turn the sound off and on again. This sometimes fixes a "stuck" engine noise. Chris Hicks
April 7, 201214 yr Is it lions? Lions roar. They don't like to fly. Alternately: http://uflymike.com/ Matt Cee
April 7, 201214 yr Author jeez, ok i will reprhase it for you, at high altitude in a real NG, you can't hear the engines at high altitude, in the PMDG ngx, i can certainly do hear the engines at hight altitude. ok how about now?(: Daniel choen
April 7, 201214 yr I understood the first time. I was asking you to troubleshoot common problems, but since you've chosen to get rude, I'll let somebody else help you. Chris Hicks
April 7, 201214 yr Author I understood the first time. I was asking you to troubleshoot common problems, but since you've chosen to get rude, I'll let somebody else help you. as you whish mate, i have actually taken another look at my previous post, and i can't see where your conclusion came from but well, have a great one cheers. EDIT: i wasn't talking to you. Daniel choen

EDIT: i wasn't talking to you. Daniel, Chris thought you were talking to him while you were talking to Matt. Why don't people use names or the quote button here? It would make things so much easier. And nicer... Kenny Lee"Keep climbing"

And nicer... yes, your'e right, but he shouldn't offended by those words, i mean what did i say wrong? i thought's Matt, did not understand what i meant, so i said that i'll rephrase it for him. thanks.EDIT:i was joking(: Daniel choen

EDIT:i was joking(: You didn't say anything wrong. Just some comment on lions threw people off. Though with it being 95 deg. in a couple days (hell, in a few months it'll be 115), I'm sure I'll be taking offense to anything on here... Kenny Lee"Keep climbing"

April 7, 201214 yr Have you tried to play around with the sound options via the FMC? Daniel Gravanis - EDDH Many happy landings and always three green!
April 7, 201214 yr thank you, do you have an answer for my question by the way mate? i really want to solve that thing.(: I would try pressing 'Q' twice to reset the noise. From your second post, I take it you are talking about the noise from the engines? Try turning the engine sound down from the FSX sounds menu. Kenny Lee"Keep climbing"
April 7, 201214 yr There are more than a few sounds in the cockpit, so it may or may not be the engines. You can lower just the engine noise in FSX to 0 and if you still hear it, its probably either the wind or the cooling fans. I disabled both in the sound folder and the flight is much more peacefull :-) Jay

April 7, 201214 yr How do you disable the wind? Go to the sound options in the FS settings and play around. I agree with the OP that the engine sounds were too loud at cruise (at least for me) even after following PMDG's suggestions. I lowered the FSX engine sound settings until they were nearly inaudible at cruise; the predominant sounds being the wind and AC/packs sounds (I also increased the wind/environment sounds).
