Hilo Tower has an interior!

Featured Replies

Take a look at this! An ATC inclined friend discovered that there is an interior in the control tower at Hilo, so I flew my camera up to take a look! I haven't tried any other towers, but this is pretty cool!

I think that tells us something about the future !

All of the towers I have seen have been very detailed. Such a tease lol.

My first thought looking at the weather radar in the center console was that it looked like it could be New Jersey and Long Island, but the coastline (if that is a coastline and the blue isn't just some artifact in the image) isn't correct to the south. It looks almost like it could be a scan from the Terminal Doppler near Philadelphia International or the NEXRAD tower at Mt. Holly, NJ.

Thanks for the picture link.

I just went and took me quite a while to get up there.

Nice view from the tower.

All these little details.........

I have wandered many of the airports, and noticed so many little things.......

The question is; is it just window dressing? Or is it a sign of planning for greater things?

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

Nice spot mate.

It really deserves a rough, efficient and professional ATC now.

I think that everybody here knows or suspects that my sympathies lie with Flight (although I loved FS X and every other version of FS or other flight games I have played!). So, these images are in no way meant as a criticism of any kind.

Best regards.

The problem has the control tower has unrealistic smallest, need fix them..... and the camera movement has desperateness slowest to reach them.

Now this is a cool "easter egg" now we just need to man those towers in multiplayer and talk on the specific frequencies like in vatsim. ; )

How do you get there? I mean do you walk and then take the stairs or the elevator?

Isn't it obvious?? :D You land on top of the tower, then use control-S to lower your eyepoint. :D

Ok, I'm kidding, but it's probably some combination of the eyepoint keys.

I used the Screenshot Camera and flew it up there with the eyepoint commands.

I parked my plane next to the control tower and spent a lot of time panning with the mouse and pressing:

Ctrl+W, Ctrl+E, Ctrl+A, Ctrl+S

Have done it before on the ship (BTW: It is just the shell) and other sites too.

Sorry Azure, the topic is Control Towers.

Hi, fun to explore. I made this one on de Lihue airport. Just parked the aircraft against the wall of the tower and a lot of moving the mousewheel up (in the F9 modus).

I guess that it is just a matter of softwaredesign, I doubt (althought I hope so) if it will have future meanings.

On an other airport I couldn't come in.
