April 19, 201214 yr Author Heres another video -- what I've learned -- trim can't be held down! I've got it all setup wrong on FSUIPC... Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering
April 19, 201214 yr The Electric Stabilizer Trim Motor has a pressure sensitive button and can be hold until reaching the desired trim configuration. You have to press both buttons to actuate the Stabilizer trim motor and it can be override with the electric Stabilizer Trim Motor override switch on the center pedestal and trim the Stabilizer by the trim wheel. The Stabilizer trim wheel trim the stabilizer by a metal cable. Off course this is for the 737. Miguel Arias
April 19, 201214 yr Author Whats with the multiple trim button presses on the 747 video then? Is it for fine control? Thanks. Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering
April 19, 201214 yr yes, to maintain the airplane at a selected altitude when you are flying manually you have to press the trim button mutiple times so it moves just a bit and keep the aircraft steady on that altitude. Just watch a 737 cockpit video and you will see how fast the trim wheel move when the pilot actuate the Stabilizer trim motor. If you doubt it, just go to www.pprune.org, there are Airlines Pilots and they will take you out of the doubt. Miguel Arias
April 19, 201214 yr Its QANTAS (Queensland And Nortthen Territory Aerial Services) the oldest continuously operated airline in the world and the second oldest in the world overall. Started in Winton outback Queensland in 1920. Bruce Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." Gandalf: "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."
April 19, 201214 yr Author Whoops spelling mistake. Thanks for catching that and thanks for the trim enquiry. Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering
April 19, 201214 yr Am I the only one who really likes how the cockpit of a real NG seems alot smaller than NGX ? Thanks for sharing! Thanks, Kevin L
April 19, 201214 yr Author Maybe you're zoomed in too much :) Or you have wideaspect = true in your fsx.cfg Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering
April 19, 201214 yr Never heard about "Wideaspect" before. I'll go check it out. Thanks! By the way, do they align the IRS or turn it off? Thanks, Kevin L
April 19, 201214 yr This reminds me of last time I went on an NG. I was shocked by how similar that Boeing had modeled the real NG on the NGX. :LMAO:
April 19, 201214 yr Am I the only one who really likes how the cockpit of a real NG seems alot smaller than NGX ? Quite much any cockpit seems smaller than FS. Have you been in an ATR lately? Those cockpits are TINY :) By the way, do they align the IRS or turn it off? If you have at least 10 or so minutes, it is better to turn it off completely and realign from scratch. --Peter Fabian
April 19, 201214 yr Two PMDG's in one clip. Right at the beginning ( 0:02 ) and at 0:40 taking off behind, isn't that a J4100. Kevin M. Manley
