May 7, 201214 yr Your welcome Phlux - I still think we can do better. Yours and Rafals PC's are beasts by reading your specs in your signatures. Rafal: Have you tried MattSC1's suggestions above? Any more luck with your blurries? I can't believe either one of you have a problem. Have you applied the 3GB or high memory patch to the FS9.EXE itself? I know there was a program you could run to modify your fs9.exe file that will force it to use more then 2GB of memory - this is different from putting the /3GB switch in your config.sys using MSCONFIG. Anyways always here to lend an ear and suggestion. Bye for now guys. Paul. Paul
May 7, 201214 yr Hi Paul, may I please repeat my petition to explain what are these entries in your fs9.cfg for, which I haven't in mine so far: Section [GRAPHICS] FORCEFULLSCREENVSYNC=1 ForceWindowedVSync=1 HIGHMEMFIX=1 SHADER_CACHE_VERSION=1 STALE_BUFFER_THRESHOLD=2147483647 Section [DISPLAY] WideViewAspect=TRUE UseDeviceTextureCache=1 TextureThrash=1 Thank you very much. May 7, 201214 yr Author Paul, Thank you very much for your efforts. I, similarly to phlux, have not come to any significant improvement. Your help has been and will always be appreciated. This screenshot was taken a few minutes ago: Matt, there are a few things that are different from what your Nvidia Inspector settings are That is true! Thanks for correcting the blind man (I really have to get somew new glasses...) I'm on 301.24 and use Nvidia inspector version 1.9.6.5 As you might guess from my NVIDIA Inspector's screen I am on 1.9.6.5. too. But as for the graphics drivers I changed them into the latest official ones, which is 296.10. I see you are using the latest beta, so I may give it a try tonight or tomorrow. As for the rest of your post, I have applied everything. There were actually no changes in the way ground textures look, as seen in the post above. However, I admit my VC textures look better now and I did not notice the previously annoying shimmering at the airport. :good: I guess it is mainly due to the Anti-Aliasing transparency settings. And yes, I am on two WS monitors. Thanks a lot for your help, guys. I got stuck a bit and I need a few days to think it all over. I halted my planned FS9 scenery purchases for a while. Have a very nice evening!
May 7, 201214 yr I am on two WS monitors. 1. Backup FS9.cfg 2. Remove the section in your FS9.cfg that starts with: [DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti.1] <----note the ".1" which is your 2nd monitor. 3. Physically unplug 2nd monitor. 4. Test and see if blurries are gone. RJ
May 8, 201214 yr Hi Rafal, Glad it at least helped with your VC textures and a bit with your shimmering, Don't give up on it. I was able to track down the FS9.cfg tweak guide that I've based most of my fs9.cfg tweaks on over at flightsim world. It's a bit older, but provides some good information about the fs9.cfg file. http://www.flightsim...showtopic=28865 Paul had mentioned a 3gb patch for the fs9.exe. There is one that will modify the fs9.exe to see up to 4GB of memory. Make sure you back up your original though. I've used it for most my programs with excellent results, it can be found here http://ntcore.com/4gb_patch.php Take care, Matt
May 8, 201214 yr Author Hi, RJ I will certainly try your suggestion. Every trail which leads to a solution is a good one. But I can't hide that would be a rather sad solution since I now got used to using to monitors (I have EFB / FSNav / FSC on the other). Dear Matt, Thank you very much for your words. I will study the Flightsim World thread you linked for me. Glad it at least helped with your VC textures and a bit with your shimmering Yes, for the last half a year I have been flying the AS A320 exclusively. I found some not perfectly alliased lines in its all-in-all beautiful virtual cockpit. I thought that is something I cannot help, but after applying you suggestions, I can say now the VC is perfectly alliased and looks even more gorgeous. Similarlily, some of my AI aircraft plus airport fences and poles had a tendency to shimmer, which now seems to have disappeared. Thank you! Paul had mentioned a 3gb patch for the fs9.exe. Yes, but as I wrote in post #28: I have the 3GB switch applied Additionally I will exchange the graphics drivers into the 301.24 beta ones you mentioned. Once again big big thanks to everyone participating in this thread. I am literally proud to be a part of such a wonderful international community.

May 8, 201214 yr Commercial Member Hi Paul, may I please repeat my petition to explain what are these entries in your fs9.cfg for, which I haven't in mine so far: Section [GRAPHICS] FORCEFULLSCREENVSYNC=1 ForceWindowedVSync=1 HIGHMEMFIX=1 SHADER_CACHE_VERSION=1 STALE_BUFFER_THRESHOLD=2147483647 Section [DISPLAY] WideViewAspect=TRUE UseDeviceTextureCache=1 TextureThrash=1 Thank you very much. Harald Several of those lines are only applicable to fsx.cfg, not fs9.cfg. Kyle Weber (Private Pilot, ASEL; Flight Test Engineer)Check out my repaints and downloads, all right here on AVSIM
May 9, 201214 yr Yes CaptainKornDog that is true - but I tried a few anyway in the FS9.CFG - it didn't complain about them nor did cause any adverse affects in visuals either. It probably just ignores them if it doesn't know what they are correct? Paul. Paul
May 9, 201214 yr I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this thread thus far. I have not completely solved the "shimmering" and "blurries" issue I was having with FS9, But dang if it doesn't look a lot better than it did before! I can actually fly it now without a wretched grimace on my face. I know I am a new guy, But from what I have seen this community rocks and I am excited to become a part of it. May 9, 201214 yr Indeed Harald. I look forward to reading other's opinions and sharing my own with people around the globe. BTW, I see you are from Germany. Hallo zu meinem neuen Freund aus Deutschland! May 9, 201214 yr Joeyboots, hallo to you, my friend from Virginia! Did you spent some time in Germany? But so is life: Some of my friends have moved from Germany to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, just few days ago, and that seems to be not too far from you... So I think in the next time I should fly to US East Coast. At the moment I'm preparing for approach to UAAA Almaty, so this journey will take some days.By the way - and to get back to the topic, I was very interested in the FS9.cfg entries of Paul, which were unknown to me so far. I tested some of them, but didn't have much improvement. My texture appearance is something between Paul's and Rafal's, so I don't complain further. Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
May 9, 201214 yr I have not been to Germany, But I studied your wonderful language a little bit back in high school. Yes indeed, Pennsylvania is only a few hours drive from me. Very cool. If you wish to fly over my area in FS9 I recommend MegaScenery USA 2005 Volume 5: Mid Atlantic. http://www.megascenery.com/vol5-us.htm It's great! Also, Getting back on topic myself, My texture appearance is also between those two. No complaints from me either friend! I built this newer computer about 5 months ago and ever since the upgrade FS9 has been a blurry, shimmering, jagged mess. These tweaks have helped me greatly and it is not yet perfect, But is in comparison much much better than what it was. I set up a special profile for it on my graphics card along with the .cfg tweaks, that cleared it up a lot. May 9, 201214 yr So if you understand German, this should be interesting for you - if you don't know it already: www.germany-vfr.de/jobia/lcdokupdf/lcdokupdf.zip It's a huge documentation not only about landclass, but especially about many fs9.cfg parameters. It helped me much to improve my sim. The author did an almost scientifical test work. Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
