June 8, 201213 yr :LMAO: I love the chopper but lose the fat old guys! I really meant something more like this - this is the Mosquito, turbine version! Another Mosquito, Rotax version The Guimbal Cabri, lovely: Other choices abound. Best regards. Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!

I like your selection, good looking machines. Then again, since MS has this thing about warbirds, I wonder if they're thinking about giving us a cockpit-less Cobra or Apache?? (Maybe I shouldn't give them any ideas...) There's no place like this place, so this must be the place.
June 8, 201213 yr Commercial Member I don't think those achievements mean much, for example one that would require amount of flying that would match 8 hours every day for 2 years is something very few people would get even with big jets. Also most people want to fly real world routes with them or at least ones that you could think being flown IRL, flying around Alaska or Hawaii with 747 wouldn't really live long I think. Maybe they could add something like DC-3 or small turboprops, but I highly doubt adding jetliners.
June 8, 201213 yr The sheer size of the passenger numbers in some of the achievements make it pretty clear they anticipate big jet airliners at some point. Not anytime soon, perhaps, but eventually. Otherwise, those achievements would not even be there.

Hehe I hope we won't be able to beat the "10 000hrs of flying" before the passengers one is in reach :P

Luis They better strap a couple more engines on that Mosquito if it's gonna get ME off the ground... and call the Paramedics to cut me out of it when I land... ; )
June 9, 201213 yr My sentiments exactly, Rich. :LMAO: Just glad it's all make-believe. Best regards. Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!

Not anytime soon, perhaps, but eventually. Otherwise, those achievements would not even be there. Not necessarily. At start they were planning to make Flight something very different from what it is now, with third party support and probably a lot more areas, maybe they also just made those achievements at that time and then just forgot them there. Also another question is how long lifetime Flight has left? If eventually means few years graphics and everything in Flight have become so outdated that really they will then simply lack buyers for these DLCs.
June 9, 201213 yr How long does any piece of software have left? People are still selling stuff (only recently released) for an eight year old sim that (in theory) is two generations ago. And the price of one I'm looking at is higher than Flight DLC. If people are prepared to produce and people are prepared to pay... Mike Dryden

People are still selling stuff (only recently released) for an eight year old sim that (in theory) is two generations ago. And the price of one I'm looking at is higher than Flight DLC. If people are prepared to produce and people are prepared to pay... FSX has been doing so well for so long time only because it has had no real competitor until now X Plane 10 came out and many people have already moved to it. No other simulator out there has allowed you to fly around whole world, has had coverage with loads of addons and recent graphics. FSX has been simply so much better than its competitors for all those years that people have kept using it and third party addon makers doing addons for it. However, Flight is in much more competitive market. There is already Aerofly FS which looks better than Flight many ways, and who knows if more competitors will come. Flight is not same way superior to its competitors that FSX has been, and that's why just more DLCs will not keep it alive if programs based on modern code instead of Flight with old FS based graphics come. Also Flight will be never able to compete in amount of content with simulators that are open to third party to develop with. Graphics engine which is just slightly improved from previous FS won't sustain in longer term competitive market. Aerofly FS already has photoreal coverage of whole Switzerland I think, with future tech a lot more of that stuff will be possible.
