June 12, 201213 yr Are there free enroute, approach and airport charts available for download into the CS 777 EFB in an acceptable format. Ron Ron Service .
June 12, 201213 yr Yeah, often you get them with add-on airports for FSX anyway, but if not, usually if you type in the ICAO airport code and the word chart in Google, you'll find something which you can just right click on to save, and then sling it in the appropriate EFB folder. Try typing 'TNCM chart' into Google for example, and you'll see what I mean. Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
June 13, 201213 yr www.airnav.com There you can search any airport in the US and it will provide the most up to date charts from SIDS,STARS and all. They all pull up in a PDF format and area all easy to click, save and move to the EFB. I spent about an hour yesterday doing this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk William Sequeira
June 13, 201213 yr I have downloaded charts as per Al's advice. They are all in PDF format which is not recognized by the EFB. How do I get them to work? Ron Ron Service .
June 13, 201213 yr Convert them to JPEGs or GIFs or BMPs, or something like that (full list of compatible files appears on the test page of the EFB). Most any paint program can do that, notably Paint, which is built into windows, go to your Start menu on your PC and type Paint and it will find it. Use the top left menu in paint to open your chart and then from that same menu, choose Save As. Mission accomplished. Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
June 13, 201213 yr And I have ran into you issue you stated. Lol. No rhyme or reason on the selection process. There has to be a better way to pull them up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk William Sequeira
June 13, 201213 yr The thing I would suggest, and it's what I've started doing, is to delete the content of the EFB folders, then have a folder with all your charts in it, with them all named appropriately, and then to simply regard putting the requisite charts in the EFB folders prior to the flight, as being equivalent to part of the pre-flight process before boarding the aircraft, akin to making sure you have the right stuff in your flight bag before boarding. Next time you fly, if it is from and to a different airport, simply tidy it up and paste in the required charts once more, just like you would do with your physical flight bag, or in my case in real life, all the crap jammed into the leg and shoulder pockets of the old RAF flight suit I invariably wear when flying LOL. Not the ideal solution, but hardly too much of a chore for the convenience of being able to view stuff right there in the sim in the VC, or on a second monitor, although I would hope that CS can find a way for their EFB to bring stuff up alphabetically based on file name, so you could blast through the cycle button until you got near the letter of choice. June 13, 201213 yr That would be nice. Good suggestion though. It would take a little time to do it initially but I think it would be worth it. Also after you are all caught up it would be a small chore to create a folder required for all charts on a new airport and add it. Again, good suggestion and thank you. June 14, 201213 yr 'Educated guess' - SUREEEEE Coming from an old PMDG beta tester. hehe Anyways, I am patiently waiting the T7 from PMDG. I truly cannot wait to pull onto the runway for the first time and spool up those GE90s. - Gets my adrenaline pumping just thinking about it. :Big Grin: He might not be working on the 777, unless he also has a type rating for the triple 7.. Plus even if he is still employed by PMDG I am sure the PMDG one will be THE 777 to have. With that said if I was really into heavies I would get the CS one much like I bought the IFLY 737 to use for a few months. June 16, 201213 yr Hi Guys, Can someone comment on the updates brought by the .3 version? Does it improve the overall functionality at all? I don't have the T7 yet, but I am thinking about pulling the trigger now.
June 17, 201213 yr Not tried it yet to be honest, although I have installed it. Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
June 17, 201213 yr Hi Guys, Can someone comment on the updates brought by the .3 version? Does it improve the overall functionality at all? I don't have the T7 yet, but I am thinking about pulling the trigger now. I'm not paying much attention to the updates. The aircraft is flyable (all systems work--there are just a few bugs here and there), however, since the systems reboot when you load the aircraft, you can't load saved flights. Since the T7 flies really long routes, this stops me from really using the aircraft since I don't have the time to do a 14-hour flight in one sitting. So, if you want to eventually get the Captain Sim version, get it now just so you can get the discount, but don't expect to use it for long haul flights until v1.0 (unless you have the time for it--some people let it go overnight and then finish in the morning). -Bram Osterhout
June 17, 201213 yr The aircraft is flyable So no more weird left bank issues or anything? Also, is the FMC able to load a short route, say KBOS-KPVD and fly it? I'm aware that VNAV isn't exactly spot on, and that the ND is a little glitchy in that the waypoints sometimes decide to fly the coup, but will the plane more or less get me there in one piece?

There are over 60 flights in the air right now flying routes under 5 hrs long
