Plane cockpit tease..

The Maule was a must-buy if you wanted to do passenger/cargo Jobs, especially the clandestine smuggling runs. The Cub is not a must-buy if you already have the Maule, but it's a highly desirable aircraft for me simply because of the tundra tires.

Along that line of thought, I expect the free tundra-tire livery upgrade of the Maule will be announced a week after I buy the Cub.

I love the Cub because the silly thing practically has anti-gravity! I recently drifted into a landing in Alaska during a multiplayer match and got to watch other fliers slide in to hover nearly motionless above me for a moment with their control surfaces flickering as they balanced in the wind like seagulls; before slowly settling down in formation beside and around me as if we were all flying harriers.

I love moments like that. Tundra tires? I would take the Cub in big pink bunny slippers if I had to!!

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

I'll probably take on the same attitude once I can fly it.

Am I the only one who is annoyed that they made us pay to get the basic plane, and now we have to pay again to get the cockpit version?

You're not the only one.

Actually I'm annoyed at having to pay again for something that should have been included in the first place. Paying $20 for Alaska with a decent plane would have been fine. Paying $15 for Alaska (with a half-assed Cub) and another $5 for a "fixed" Cub just ticks me off.

There's no place like this place, so this must be the place.

It's really the same thing, you'd still be paying the same if this is the case.

I am glad they released the Alaska pack when they did. If they waited for a cockpit version Cub, it would have delayed the release even more. At least we're getting a cockpit version.

The Cub was likely finished months ago. They don't release aircraft DLC as soon as it's completed.

I agree with Knottypine. Why does it matter if it's the same price for the same content when it's all said and done?

I'd prefer they split things up like they did. This time around, I wanted the cub so it's all the same in the end. But next time, if it's an aircraft I'm not interested in, I'll be very happy to only pay $15 for a scenery area and not an extra $5 on something I don't want.

It occurs to me that bundling a pax/cargo-capable Cub in with Alaska probably cuts down on complaints of "there's nothing to do in Alaska" due to the lack of Missions or Aerocaches. They've got Jobs to keep them busy.

And it doesn't cost MS much, because most people will probably buy the VC-version, anyway.

Maybe someone should make a suggestion on the Steam forum that they have 2 options for scenery downloads the next time:

1 The Download with the new scenery and any free aircraft that comes with it, with or without cockpits.

2. The Download with scenery only, no free aircraft, for folks that don't like clutter on their hard drive.

:Peace:

Microsoft should just create a version of Flight for all the people who are offended my the mere presence of non-vc aircraft in the game. Remove all the basic aircraft, leaving only the deluxe aircraft, then charge three times the price for that version.

They would make a mint.

I agree with you. If all the people that are twisted into a pretzel pay 3X the regular price, they can afford to give the rest of us the deluxe aircraft for free. It's a win win.

Well ....I'll be......I wonder how long we'll have to play the guessing game before they deliver?

If it is a Cub that also means they expect us to keep stuffing it with cargo and passengers for a long time to come.

If it is a Cub that also means they expect us Th Cub is too small and light to carry much more than a duffle bag. Don't expect much more than a $100 Hamburger hto keep stuffing it with cargo and passengers for a long time to come.

Thank you, that was exactly the point. In one case, I'd be paying for a single download. In the other, I'd be paying twice and getting jerked around.

Hm, I suddenly thought about something: I said I think the Cub with VC should cost something like 5 dollars, but... that would be an upgrade to the Cub that comes with Alaska! They obviously won't sell a complete Cub on its own for 5 dollars. And only offering it as an upgrade and thus forcing people to buy Alaska too, would be a bit odd... I think... So now I am thinking the price of the Cub will be a full price, something like the Maule, but then I also think it will have floats and ski's and everything... Again, offering it only as an upgrade seems a bit odd...

What they probably will do is offer a "trade in" on the Cockpit less cub. If you uninstall it and send it back to MS, they will then sell you a brand new Carbon Cub with the cockpit for say $10.95. Now if the original cub has alot of wear and tear, i.e. bent landing gear, prop strikes, dings in the skin, etc, then the trade in value would be zero and you would have to pay the full $14.95 for a New Cub.

Yup. I always expected to pay full price for my new Cub after I bent the landing gear a bit on the basic model.
