July 6, 201213 yr It's a home made livery based on some business jet I saw on airliners.net :P. I'll check to see if I still have it somewhere later today (working until 09:00 UTC). I still have the livery, just not the Photoshop PSD files anymore. So if you want it, you'll have to make do with the Dutch registration PH-JFT (non-existent in the real world as far as I'm aware). :)
July 6, 201213 yr It's not the lightest a/c for frames, it's on par with the NGX I'd say. With your PC specs and your OC'd processor and fast RAM, I think you'll be perfectly fine. July 6, 201213 yr Howard, I have a "slow" computer compared to your one mate, and most of the time I do not notice sluggish performance. Sure, those ORBX YMMLs and YBBNs will slow you some, but not to the point of not being enjoyable. I regularly fly mine in and out of YMAV (Avalon) and it's as good on the frames as the other aircraft that I own. I agree with all the guys above. It's a fabulous aircraft for FSX. Cheers -- Peter Edrupt
July 6, 201213 yr Yes, it has a configuration editor to set various parameters, including: 1. 3x choice each for external & VC quality / visual effects (i.e. ice & pax visible) 2. EFIS refresh rates 3. Panel colour 4. Engine fires on/off 5. Panel definition high/low If you Google "pmdg j41 config editor" for images, a screen shot of the editor will appear. I run it perfectly at 4.0Ghz WITH the Captain Sim WX radar screen embedded in the VC where the J41 WX is. Hope this helps (I think that at 4.6Ghz, you'll be 100% fine!). Good luck! July 6, 201213 yr Minimal hit on frames; I'll post the revised panel CFG when I get a chance to copy them. Mr Fabio Lagattolla"It's better to be on the ground wishing you were flying, than flying but wishing you were on the ground!"

I'll shoot you a PM. Fabio, does it have a performance manager similar to the NGX? Adding to what Fabio said, with the config editor, if you by chance feel off by the frame rate you get, the best option in my opinion is the ability to lower either the right side or left side EHSI and EADI (or both, but I do the right side since I fly it from the left seat, so choose whichever side you will not be using, and lower the refresh rate down to 10-20%). I like this option because I can still maintain the high quality VC and High def panel option. Either way, as a few others have said, OC'd at 4.6??? You will be fine. I only have a 2700k @ 3.4 (with same graphics card) and with the right side refresh rate down, I do right on par if not better than the NGX. Regards,Kyle

I have been doing some culling especially as I have only ORBX scenery including the heavy hitting YBBN and to a lesser degree YMML and add to that the PMDG"s as well. Best thing I did was cut back in all of the config managers for a 30% increase in FPS and to be honest they all still look the same especially from a metal tube a few meters from the ground ZORAN
July 6, 201213 yr To install the Captain Sim Weather Radar screen into the PMDG J41 VC in place of the non-functional weather radar screen: First, please ensure you backup the J41's panel CFG files (simply right click on them before you edit them and select send to compressed file [zip] to get Windows to create a zipped version of the original)! 1) Install the Captain Sim WX radar into the PMDG JS41 as usual using the standard Captain Sim configuration utility so that the appropriate lines are added for a new instrument panel window [Window05]. 2) Edit the J41's panel.cfg using Notepad, locate the section "VCockpit02", and replace the string "rxpWX500!RDR" in the line beginning with "gauge04" with the string "WXR!wr_display" (excluding the inverted commas; see below). 3) Save your changes and load a J41 into FSX. 4) The J41's wx radar surround contains the EFIS map range select buttons, so this must stay in the VC, and this is why we're leaving the CS WX radar surround off. You'll need to switch the CS WX radar ON using the standard CS Weather Radar window (use Shift-6 or use the menu VIEW/NEW INSTRUMENT & select CS WX Radar); you'll only need this if you want to adjust the CS wx radar settings, otherwise the wx radar itself will display quite happily in the J41's VC. Note: The J41 has two further panel.cfg files (high/low quality); should you change the panel quality option using the J41 configuration utility, you will lose all changes; therefore, you could consider altering the three panel.cfg files in the J41's panel directory so they all contain this information. July 6, 201213 yr No worries, it works perfectly, and looks great when painting that dodgy PNW/TFE weather, or for that matter, anywhere in the UK! Hope no-one here is affected by it, and that it passes soon. Mr Fabio Lagattolla"It's better to be on the ground wishing you were flying, than flying but wishing you were on the ground!"
July 6, 201213 yr I've been to England twice and the weather was gorgeous both times.........so I think maybe someone's lying about the bad weather to keep folks away.
