Basler BT-67 Turbo Conversion DC-3 released

Featured Replies

I purchased the RXP Unlimited pack today, so I could double my GNS530s in the Lancair and Duke. I found there was enough room to fit two 530s into this bird as well as the weather radar, I didn't need the DME as there is a DME display up above the attitude indicator anyway.

I'm using friendly panels version of the ADF and autopilot.

Very happy with this plane now! This is the result :)

Nice one! Can you post a night show of this setup, Dan? My VC_01 and VC_02 sections are too bright, while the spot for the weather radar looks nice. I'm using the latest flat interior model from mjahn. bt67_interior_DIY_allblank.MDL from the 16th of July.

Also, I can't get rid of that black line below the ADF gauge, no matter how large I draw it, it always gets 'cut away' on the lower end. Same for the black gap between the weather radar and AP.

I can see you are having the same problem.

Yeah I have the same brightness issue on the RXPs. It's the back lighting combined with the lamp. It's getting lit twice. The RXP puts backlighting in it's panel as well. Not just the buttons/screen, it lights the front as well.

A workaround is to use only one or the other, if you have lots of stuff mapped to hardware you can get away with the cruise portion using only instrument backlighting even though the rest is dark. It lets you focus out the window a bit more too if there's something to see like traffic or an approach.

But funny thing is the cleanest look for the RXP is with back lighting off, and the cockpit lamp on. But a side effect of this is that the weather radar doesn't support it and you lose the radar buttons and panel lol. See what I mean here, how the RXP looks good but the weather radar looks broken:

Both lighting (bright, but maybe not as bright as yours?):

Thanks for posting. Makes sense and I will try some more combos of the lights I guess.

Even with the too bright impression in place, it still is a treat to have the two RXPs and the WR ready in that nice plane.

I saw mjahn correcting the GPS spot for the lighting, so maybe he can do the same for the rest of the radio stack. Even if not, I love the Basler already. Currently flying Iceland, thanks to a tip for trying a tight approach at BIIS.

Another great set of liveries, Cheese! Thank you very much for your hard work. I especially like the striped props on Borek's C-FMKB.

I was doing some close inspection of your fine work and found a small problem with the Forest Service N141Z. The Remove before Flight Intake covers are misplaced. I checked the other repaints and this only appears on N142Z.

Here is a picture showing the covers.-

It's not currently modeled to be opened up. As for the light spill or chink, I'll check.

Cheers,

Manfred,

I looked again at what I had reported to be light coming through a seam by the small cabin door. Here is picture of what I saw-

BT-67LightAnomaly.jpg

In the top picture, you can see the small amount of light on the top door hinge. This picture was taken from the Tower View. All interior lights were on at the time.

Oddly, if you look at the lower picture, the light is not visible from the Spot View. It is only visible from Tower view. The light appears to be light shining on the hinge from the cockpit, not through a seam in the fuselage. Why it only shows from Tower view is beyond me. Thanks for offering to check on this anomaly, but because it is only seen from the tower, it is not a big problem for me. Thanks again for an incredible aircraft!

Bill

P.S. I apologize for the picture quality. They look much darker online then they do in FSX.

Cool! I didn't know what it was and was surprised to see one in Australia - here's a blue version of the Spectrem in Rockhampton:

Checkout the cockpit, I don't think that screen is for watching DVDs :)

This is an interesting looking plane indeed:
