July 13, 201213 yr I have both installed as well, and what shows up in one, shows up in the other. We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... July 13, 201213 yr I installed the demo through Steam, then purchased the Hawaii pack there. Then re-installed my OS and did the GFWL version and had no trouble getting Hawaii and the Maule back. I then bought Alaska in GFWL. Seems just fine mixing and matching any way you like, which is pretty amazing.
July 13, 201213 yr I mainly did it with the Summer Sale in mind, but it looks like I missed the boat on that.... I've already bought every bit of current Flight DLC I'm interested in buying. The bundles can be nice, though, if you're patient. Me? Not patient. :Frustrated: Eh........ It's only money. (and not very much of it!) We can't take it with us, after all......... July 14, 201213 yr Author I mentioned the old classic combat sim collection IL-2: 1946 in the first post, but it's on sale for a bit less this weekend at GOG. No DRM, just download, install and run. It's also a more recent version than Steam (4.10m), but you still have to patch to the latest version. $4.99 IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946 http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/il_2_sturmovik_1946
July 14, 201213 yr Commercial Member I highly recommend IL-1946, with newer unofficial patches and multiplayer it can give you really good multiplayer fights. I think I might buy Flight complete pack too... I have spent way more on single FSX addons so why not give flight with addons a try even if it doesn't have ATC and AI, sure it still can give fun worth 30 dollars. Also I am interested to see how flight model is with these addon planes, so far I have flown only default stuff.

I also think it lacks certain things like ATC and AI, but the flying itself is great. Plus you can fly IFR with the Maule and RV-6 with their Nav-equipment, so for a GA sim it's pretty good. Plus the graphics and the smoothess just out of the box.. what a relief. BTW Im downloading IL2-Sturmovik now. Couldn't resist at $5. Mark
July 14, 201213 yr I purchased the Flight Pack today and so far I'm very happy with my purchase. It was a bit awkward having to put redeeming all the codes that the pack provides in GFWL and then they all have to download through there instead of steam. The downloads speeds seem pretty slow. I tried the free demo a while ago, and it left me pretty indifferent. Of course it didn't have Track IR back then and that has made all the difference to me. Infact I would recommend anyone who has Track IR to buy this pack. It really is a very smooth experience. The framerate holds up well and it supports multi screens from the ingame options. Hawaii is pretty scenic and it's a lot of fun flying through the Alaskan landscape in rough weather. Weather effects are much improved over FSX, there's a much better sense of flying though fog and having the rain beating down on the windscreen. Of course there's still the possibility that the pack will go on daily sale and the price may drop even more, but I doubt it. And let's face it, with the money most people here spent on add-ons this is a steal.

July 14, 201213 yr Of course, one consequence of all these long running sales at the same time is some badly overrun servers........ Steam may have underestimated what they were getting themselves into. By the way, Wings of Prey is going for $4.99 as well We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically. July 14, 201213 yr I am also thinking about buying Take-on Helicopters and the Hinds bundle(http://store.steampo...1_7_suggest__13) Edit: I know it is off topic, but have any of you purchased take on heli's and is it as fun as it looks?) It's lots of fun! It has a really nice flight model that eases you in to the intricasies of, well, taking on helicopters :P and it makes sure there's enough to learn and master when you get into more difficult settings. It has a nice carreer mode, even though it has a little of the arma awkwardness at times the progression is nicely done. That Hind really caters to mission makers for when you might get bored of rescue and transport missions and get ready to blow off some steam ;) No pun intended
